  • Hi. I was just wondering if you had a plastic cover on the very top of your motherboard before you can of the screen there's this plastic cover that covers the whole top half of the screen were the t5 screws go into.

    Do you know if this is important at all? it seems to be working

  • I was on the beach and I entered to the water with mine (yeah that was quite stupid) and now it won't turn on! I dismantled it and all the metal parts have oxide. What can I do?? it won't turn on! I tryed several batteries!

  • @001RafaelXD That sounds like a dead phone to me. Go have it checked out at a tech shop, but even if they could fix it, i doubt it'll run the same again. Time for a new phone for you! yayyy

    I have a complete new housing for mine. I want to refurb it.. However, I wish to keep the original metal plate, so that way I still have the IMEI and serial number on my bb etc.. Is it possible to swap the old one with the new one?

    Buy a new keypad , open 2 screw from bottom and follow the guide above then you will able to replace the new keypad.

  • i brought my phone with me in the shower and this isnt the first time i did so.. once i got out of the shower and checked my phone i unlocked it and i barely touched any buttons and it would go crazy ... how do i fix this problem? PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPPP .. i looked on the internet and found that i might have to clean the keys and dismantle my phone? i dont want to ship it away to get fixed because i know how much of a hassel and time it takes to fix ...

    The LENS cannot be take out , this is whole LCD which cost at least 65-70 pound to replace it...

    Thanks for the info so far. I have used T5 screwdriver and have got to the same position in in your demonstration. I now need to take off the lcd screen as it is cracked and I want to replace the screen. Can you tell me how to take off the screen and where to locate the serial number so that I can order a new one for this bold 9700?

    Just head to your local Flea Market or Swap-Meet and pick one up for $25.

    I've seen a lot of 9700s out at my local flea markets so I know they're out there and you can get them cheap!

    The bold that I have is the same as in your video demo but when I take the little panel strip away from under the space bar it reveals two really small holes at either end. It does not look like you could get a screwdriver in there. The measurement for the hole diameter is about 1mm. So if i purchase a screwdriver which one should I get T4, T5 or T6? Thanks

  • Very efficient, sir. And to all who are scared....well, it's a scary thing to do, especially with your baby.

    I have never taken anything electronic apart, and I decided to go for it. This video is the best one for exactly how to do it. You need a T5 screwdriver, and although I used a razor to do it, anything really thin can do the job. I nicked a couple notches in my phone in the process, very minor, and it got the job done. Just remember to keep your old stuff in case of warranty issues.

    Better use the original keypad in this case. some keypad a little hard to press.

    No need glue, just take off the bezel ,then put in new keypad..then put back the bezel.

    If you have a new housing which will come with top part, just glue it to the bezel otherwise take the old parts and glue to the new bezel.

  • @shapesy No..! Changing LCD doesnt work. Check whether the problem with the light sensor or power for the LEDs having a problem.
