When I first heard Leo speak in this movie I was so upset, but I got used to it and it worked well with the character. I didn't think too much of the movie, it wasn't bad, but I just didn't feel it to be honnest. Otherwise, the acting and overall plot was really solid and good... just not my favourite - he's done better.

All the comments here just proves that this film is an epic creation by one of the finest directors of all time in my opinion (Edward Zwick) who happen to be unpopular and underrated by so many people. Blood Diamond is a film that takes you deep in the consciousness of three totally different characters. One is after fortune (Dicaprio), one is after the truth (Connelly), and one is after freedom (Honsou). Which goal weighs the most? Just find out. It takes you right to the deep core of humanity.

OMG!!! I cannot find a single flaw in the film. The story, the action, the acting, the pacing, the special effects, the drama/emotion, the music everything is just 100% perfect. Hate to make this comparison (but as they both came out in the same year and both star Leonardo DiCaprio) but this is a million times better than The Departed (that was a gud movie but too complex) as this movie got everything right! Behind The Dark Knight and Inception, Blood Diamond is my third fav movie ever made!!!

@MbFilmReviews for me, Id have to say blood diamond. The departed was great as well, but it had some flaws. The editing in the departed made me sidetracked from the story so that gives the oscar to Blood diamond. Also Blood diamond has a stronger message to the audience rather then the departed does. Blood diamond talks of the diamond issue while the departed tells of who to trust and who not to trust. Blood diamond should take the cake

I like how this trailer is set up as like one for an epic fantasy movie (listen to nothing but the audio and it might as well be) but then you realize that it is not make believe. This really happened, maybe not the specific characters, but it was and is nonetheless real. Really amazing movie. Watching the trailer sends ice down my spine each time.
