Review: 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible

I bought a 1997 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convertible 1 month ago and have been having problems ever since I bought it. Replaced the distributor for $400, replaced spark plugs, convertible top leaks rain into car, tachometer needles go crazy on start up, sometimes the does not even start, has an oil leak now, engines fine, transmission is a POS, I paid $4000 for it! Im going to get rid of it as soon as I can. Going to go buy a 2003 Mustang GT Convertible. Chrysler= Money pit.

@MRGOLDFINGER19 well to be fair, if it's a used 14 year old car, it's more than likely got a lot of weae and tear (especially with a higher mileage number), i think you probably just got duped into buying an old washed out car...

Im lingering between 2008 Sebring Conv and 2010 Mazda3, M3 looks more cool, but Sebring is more classical and also bigger. but i wonder how fast can sebring go?

this car is for somebody who has no concept at what a good sports car, or a good car in general, is. you'd have to be stevie wonder to like the styling, and the whole car wreaks of cheapness.

jeremy clarkson said it was the 2nd worst car of 2008.

so, if you have no concept at what a good car is, and would like a car that's extremely unfun to drive and is catastrophically ugly, then go ahead and buy one.

exactly, alfas still have passion and flair to lure buyers toward them. their interiors are nowhere near as bad as chryslers, and they actually handle and drive well.

not to mention that today the man in charge of their electrics used to head the bmw m division.

alfas today are actually well made, and built for the future.

don't waste your time with any chrysler. the 300c is the best chrysler to buy, but that's pretty much like if syphilis is the best std to catch.

the interior is really cheap, slightly push in on the dashboard, and you'll see what i mean. it has the chassis of a 10 year old mercedes e-class. and, the body of the car is simply too big for the chassis. if you remember the e class from 10 years ago, it was a damn side smaller than a 300.

why don't you get a bmw 3 series?

well, cuz the price of chrysler is dropping , and i dont think i can afford a bmw in any serie.

no the interior is far from "not bad".

the 3 series is roughly the same price as a 300 touring. i highly recommend one over that. it's a much better car.

If Chrysler was making any good cars in the last ten years... they wouldn't be taking government money. It's that simple. Ford saved itself and they've only had their crap together for a few years (basically when they hired their new CEO, Alan Mulally). The new Sebring was called "The worst car in the world." and one that contributed to the downfall of Detroit.

I own a Sebring, so I can attest to that. Geo Trackers have a higher build quality.

Great review, but 2 things....you just click the seatbelts in when not in use so they don't flap - like in every convertible when not using a windscreen. And the seats have those awkward headrests because it's now a requirement that all cars have whiplash protection. Some have active headrests, these are inactive.
