In general I don't like Fox News but this is an honest mistake. I work in tv news and things like this happen unfortunately. Let's not read to much into this. Often times the people that are pulling the video are young and new to news,and most of the time these tapes aren't checked before they make air. The video footage of the real guy was probably archived on the same tape and the person pulling the video was scanning through it and it was a case of mistaken identity.

i find fox news farsical..they are awful at letting guests put forward their points of view without shouting down or leading their responses. Their job should be to report the news not to interpret it and spew out catchphrases according to the political standpoint they are required to take. Its tiring to watch, but also fascinating that millions of americans watch it and form their opinions around it...you would NEVER get away with trying to make a show like that in Britain.

I listen to NPR and when they aren't simply reporting the facts, they regularly give voice to right wing points of view. They will not however permit bullshit to be spewed, and if a guest blantantly misrepresents reality and facts (as the right is wont to do), they will not be back (unlike Fox News where they are the most likely to be back).

There is a mistake in this video as well. He keeps referring to them as African-American congressmen. Incorrect both men were born in the USA, not Africa. In general I don't like Fox News but this is an honest mistake. I work in tv news and things like this happen unfortunately. Let's not read to much into this. Often times the people that are pulling the video are young and new to news,and most of the time these tapes aren't checked before they make air. The video footage of the real guy was probably archived on the same tape and the person pulling the video was scanning through it and it was a case of mistaken identity.
