  • Problem with the 328i is the harsh engine breaking when you let up on the gas. At slow speeds, and especially in stop- and-go traffic, the heavy engine braking is enough to get many nauseous as the car does not easily coast to a stop. Further, the car emits a very high-pitch sound for about 45 seconds every time you open or close any door or the trunk. Finally, the run flat tires give a less than comfortable drive. On the positive side, the steering is great, and the iDrive is superb.

  • front is horrendous, they've gotta stop hiring gays.

  • @igrenade amen to that

  • > "Swiss" Series < Hehe, very funny :)

  • the fron is a fail.

  • Most people won't tell the difference fom the last model from sideview, looks more like somekind of facelift, of course it isn't

  • so m-pack is no more? :(

  • The exterior isn't different enough...very disappointing. the Interior is a lot better, but when Jag comes out with its 3 series competitor, it will be all over. the XF and XJ are both better in every way than the 5 series and the 7 series. BMW has grown complacent it seems. Not that this car looks bad, it is just blah.

  • It's like BMW + Audi + VolksWagen all combined into one. The grill is still all BMW, and the lower air intake is like the one for Audi's, and the straight line of the headlight is like VW....

It took me almost 7 years to accept the design of E60(Prev 5 series) and now I feel the same...

  • I have to say I'm a little underwhelmed by the design. It's like the BMW designers were afraid to let their imagination take it's course. The rear end is just a scaled down version of the 5 series, which is hugely disappointing, and the front end doesn't look any more modern than the previous 3 series.

  • swiiiiz series

  • Yes. There is a basic configuration. The order guide is out now. The sport , modern and luxury lines are an add on. Sport line is a bit more money than the other 2.. For the 328ii, $2100 for luxury or modern or $2500 for sport line. There is an m sport which is even sportier coming July 2012. Will probably get the sport or m sport next summer!!!

  • Do customers can only choose between those three configurations or is there a "basic" one? If only these three configurations are offered, which one is the most basic?

  • MY FIRST CAR!!!!!!!

  • how many of you laughed when you heard the first guy say "3 series"...... hahahaha

  • this is the car for people that want the bmw badges and the interior of a cadillac. BMW at one point was for sport enthusiasts but has turned into a bland car with big engines made to haul aging geriatrics around. the interior is all fluff. All the new BMWs I've seen are being driven by gray haired men and women peaking over the steering wheel. They are trying to compete with Mercedes in comfort and convience but have lost any excitement or joy from looking at the cars standing still.

  • @MrThedoberman Umm this 3-series is lighter than the last one!! Which means its quicker around corners and more nimble and sporty than the last one. read all the new reviews on this new 3 series and they sall say the same thing and gave this car maximum marks.

  • @str8manchester Must everything be given to the demon that is Idrive! Even the radio display that had the stations? Now you passenger can control your Idrive for you, it is basically where their arm would rest naturally.

And the half twist dash on the right side, looks like they ran out of trim material. Yes the car will be faster, but no where near as fun to drive. if you go for the new electric assist steering, there is little to no steering feedback like when tractions about to go.

  • @MrThedoberman Yes the old had hydraulic steering and the new onws have electric steering. However the manage to do a top job regarding this and according to some reviews if you can be bothered checking them out, the steering is better on this new one, as well as the handling and cornering. It looks more aggressive than the old one, it is also wider and lighter.... you can't go wrong with that!

Stick with NA engines and hydraulic steering, people will stop buying BMWs because of fuel prices.

  • @str8manchester I don't think fuel prices are that much of a concern to BMW drives. My current 06 330 w/ sports package averages 25 mpg with a mix of city and hwy. Will be looking for a car with a spare tire (instead of the rough riding RFTs ), LED taillights (which they chose to leave out so they can add them in two years as something new, even though last years 5er had them) Really the 4 banger engine with turbo after thumbing their nose at Audi for years.

  • @MrThedoberman Of course fuel prices are a concern. In the UK the 320d is the best selling 3 series, the 520d is the best selling 5 series, 730d is the best selling 7 series and this is excluding their 4x4s. They are the best sellers because fuel prices are stinky! This 328i is faster 0-60 than your 330 while having a 44 mpg.... I know which one i would rather go for!! You keep on saying 4 cylinder this n that but this is the way forward, high mpg, high torque vehices... perfect for the city.

  • headlights bit looks like mitsubishi EVO X ..but overall its cool car!!

  • One of the ugliest 3 series ever, dun't like the part of the front headlight joining the front kidney. It will look much better if that area cut sharp and doesn't join to the kidney.

  • the hood is just no good...makes the front look bad.

  • i love it! i'm getting one... no wait! i'm poor :/

  • Relly nice and powerful, New BMW. If you like old one, then by old one, le roi est mort vive le roi

  • Fucking UGLY those side mirror blinkers are copied from AUDI = INSPIRATIONLESS

  • @marcvie9 I can't see any inspiration from any boring and ugliest audi.

  • mahal gilo ni

  • front is good but i didnt like the new screen, i think it was better integrated in the trim

  • Wow that interior really makes the current model look out dated now...

  • Damn, as a bmw lover I say.. when is bmw going to make beautiful looking cars like audis?? This design needs more spirit. Miss the E30!

  • I hate the new design. I liked the classic e46's and e36's better, they looked more like high performance cars. Now these look like you took the Honda accord and put BMW logos on it. It lost that racing feel.

  • Wow! BMW raised the bar again! Now that caddy is trying to run with the mill! BMW just took the 3 series & made it very customer friendly! All BMWs has always been very customer Customizatiom friendly & this just took it to the top! Imagine all the old 3 series drivers will get on the F30 models lines so fast with thier own personal taste! The new CTS might be cheap but it's cheap cause the options list is no where near the 5-series! & do does the ATS to the 3! Let the battle

    Begone!

  • Luxury line is really boring......

Which previous bmw models had the headlights touching the kidneys?

    Does anybody know?

I think the sport line with chrome around the doors would be nice.

  • BMW get rid of this disigners. They can't design a car, and they got an awful prenuntiation. What happened to the 3 series? The break down began with the E90.

  • why the hell there are no more LEDs like in the e90 LCI? it looked so sexy

  • @Nikolai940 well, because if there were LED´s from the beginning, BMW would run out of things to improve when the Life Cycle Impulse is due, lol...

  • The interior is sexy. Loving the rear, side view and the way the wheels look. i like the idea behind what you 'tried' to do with the front but IMO it failed. NOOoooo more walnut..its so 90s

  • The front looks absolutely horribad. Please pay me to design a better one... lol

  • @strakotsiossas Thats only your opinion ,I absolutely love that front <3 . Cool car

  • @blackaxe36 Agree, there is a good reason I have had BMW/M3's for 20 years ... I just hope they can keep up with the last year trend in US to add 100's of hp to compete on the ring, and hence bragging rights. Handling - check, looks - check, interior - check, sound - check, weight - getting there, power - let's see ... (BMW - 3550 lb and 490hp ... or better plz).

  • walnut trim emphasizes the horizontal orientation of the interior??

it irks me that designers get paid for such things...

  • Loved it. Unfortunately yes it looks like a 5 series, but since I love the new 5 series, it will do for me LOL... I need the money first of course. Fantastic, at last the end of that ugly rear of the E90!

  • pls fire Christopher Weil and the person who approved this design

  • sucks
