  • Wait, I never noticed Dave does heel-toe on the double bass. Look at his legs at 1:20

  • Holy shit at 0:49 I've never heard him use that drum beat before! except for every single Dragonforce song, trolol

  • 5:25 :O!

  • We talk about this one video, what about gig!?

Dips into an ice bucket afterwards!

  • I wonder what would happen if somone took away those chinas for one gig, he'd probally die

  • Can stay Dave Mackintosh nominated for gold medal in HEAVY METAL?.

    :0!.

  • @616Dave616 Nah, he's too good for that ;)

  • Dace Mackintosh is not HUMAN !

  • @TheWadezig Is a fuckin' machine!

  • I can't hear the bass drum for shit. Needs some triggers.

  • @Doneyear He doesn't use the bass drums at all. They're just for show. He uses electronic kick pads, if you look close, you can see his pedals are facing down.

  • chuck norris can do that with one drumstick-_-

  • i could play this on my electric triangle...

  • The Rev? Bitch please

  • Dave Mackintosh for life!! NO ONE CAN DO THIS LIKE HE CAN!!!

  • @xpertbrewer LISTEN TO "DANY LOBLE" FROM HELLOWEEN... then you can talk

  • So.. You can run a marathon.. But can you play the drums? I think not.

  • 1:19 EARHASM :D

  • He can finish song which last 7 min in 3 min, no joke :D

  • Dave Mackintosh is great, sure he really only sticks to one style, but I still love listening to him play.

  • Dave Mackintosh - Hero of our Time

  • I was waiting for his drum sticks to catch fire like your guitar in guitar hero

  • mega nice

  • Guys in never see him without a hat,is he bald or something?

  • @gutin90 Some of us just like to wear hats dood.

  • his tuning is a bit too tight.. dont burn me!!

  • one of the best drummers in the metal industry and you never hear about him

  • you are very good dave

  • Better than Rev...

  • Comment removed

  • @AeroxLight IMO the Rev pwns Dave. They're really two different drummers. The rev is more technical when drumming with techniques like double ride and creative and unique beats. Dave just kinda bashes the drums and plays fast. And the thing is that the Rev can also play fast beats and fills with endurance. Just see him play the beast and the harlot drum solo and you'll know what i mean. Honestly I don't see Dave playing original beats and fills. On the other hand The rev does just thatPerfectly

  • @Jellyboi911 I'm assuming you've never heard his work in Bal-Sagoth? I loved Jimmy's work on drums/keyboards since STST. His creativity is boundless! Mackintosh is a "percussionist".

  • @FurbyParade226 yes i agree with ur statement about The Rev's creativity. He's really a musical genius. And no I've never heard of the band Bal-Sagoth so i just looked it up right now. He was a little more creative in Bal-Sagoth but in general he really isn't that creative. For Dave it's just play fast beat, do a blast, then do a hard fill. I'm not saying he's a bad drummer, I'm just saying he's not the most unique drummer there is.

  • @AeroxLight but i do respect your opinion. R.I.P The Rev

  • he's the only one who can play their instruments fast

  • he is quite clearly the most awesome member of DF

  • U.u grande xs!

  • 大好きデイブ

  • The only talented musician from DragonForce.

  • @Carlosgallany dude i've been saying that forever lol

  • Jam you assholes he's cool

  • max respect :)

  • Glorious! Dave is way underrated. People try to say he sucks because they don't like the band but when i see this it just blows my mind at how crazy good he is. If the haters could see this they would change their mind. Love Dave and Dragonforce!

  • fucking awesome, but the thing that does me in, is his pedals arent hitting the bass drum, theyre those weird ones where the bass pedal head is curved downwards, hes hitting an electric trigger pad. other than that it fucking sick :) and im not dissing him i just dont like it :/

  • heeel fucking toe!!!!!!

  • He needs a bigger drum..!!! That´s small for him!!

  • Dave mackintosh is the best in the drums!!!!

  • His pedals are strange.... mmhhh

  • @UnderD1000 He uses felt beaters, nothing strange about that.

  • I can play 3:53 - 3:56.

  • why are people sitting so still? ._.

  • omfg he is doing double stroke on the double bass omfg

    my hero XD

  • Why the fuck cant i hear people applaud this man?!?!

  • dave mackintosh rulles

  • Dave Mackintosh é o melhor de todos os tempos

  • Such an underrated drummer

  • I COULD DO THAT!!!

If by "that," you mean what the guys with the cameras are doing... >.>

  • @mav6771 i can, just my drumkit sounds different. hardest thing in these songs isnt playing fast because alot of it is repeated :)

  • PSH! I could do that!

If you cut out 100% of the song :P

  • 5:23 Dave is distroying trigger

  • What pedals he using?

  • @xTravisSmithx He said in an interview that he uses Tama Iron Cobra "Rolling Glides"

  • @motoguy05 i see. thanks..

  • The god of drum

  • Are his legs like immune to fatigue or something??

  • @mcwiggles1213 hes uses kick pads instead of playing the bass...reduces backlash

  • @mcwiggles1213 Apparently yes! lol

  • @mcwiggles1213 and what about his arms?

  • @shimantozyziky His arms do like half the work his legs do! Although my guess is he would like lift weights or something.

  • Comment removed

  • I dno if im right but is he using those pedals often used on electric kits, where the beaters arent hitting the batter head of the bass drum, but they almost hitting the floor

  • i love it when he plays the hi-hat and the snare during the first verse his arms are move like perfectly like he probally has one of the best postures for drumming ive seen in a while lol

  • @lbpeppers if you don't like it, don't listen to it, and don't comment on it. it's annoying when people present their PERSONAL opinion as a fact..

  • @markosM98 Hey dude... u r right... so immature... sorry... but check the Aquiles Style and technique...

  • @lbpeppers Aquiles is definately awesome(!), but we have to give dave the fact that he plays 2-hour gigs where every song has a blast beat..

  • Comment removed

  • awesome man !!! arghhh too bad ! i couldnt come to your clinic in bandung

  • wooooohooooo

    Dave Mackintosh Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    AWESOME

  • gotta love the speed on this guys feet!

  • this guy is good, but not better. this guy is fast but not fastest.... i think Aquiles Priester and Mike Mangini also Marco Minneman are way better than this guy,

  • @ghany02

Good for you. Now go watch their videos. This video is for people that like Dave Mackintosh. There's no need for comments like yours. Don't shove your opinion down our throats.

  • @VictoryShadow agreed bro!

  • this guys a fucking beast... and im a drummer and to all the people who say this is nothing... Id LOVE to fucking see you try doing this for a 7 minute song bitches

  • Dave is just the fastest choker ever!! and the best speed drummer EVER!!!!

  • @RockDude338 hes fast, but he isn't the fastest, one drummer holds that

  • That beat at 5:23 is crazy :s

  • Excelente...

  • This is how I picture Jesus.

  • Drum Ninja

  • los meJOrEs dEL MuNDo YeAh¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡dragonforece¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • FREAKING DOUBLE PEDALS!!!

  • sure all the songs have the same beat, but i like it, but his diversity with his fills rly makes up for it, hes insane, and its hard not too do a beat like that when every song is at around 250 bpm

  • @ChrisAdlerWannaBe 200BPM*

  • Looks like he doesn't use the bass drums if you look closely on how the beaters are positioned, but more like the other way around on an electric. Can't really explain, but if you've seen the vids of Thomas Lang you know what I'm talking about. And no, this is not to start a flame war about triggers etc., but i just wondered if someone else noticed it.

  • @iCe1984zz no man, i think he using them. look at 5:30. He's really good both studio and live perform.

  • @WALALang04 Then why aren't his bassdrums not mic'ed? :)

  • @iCe1984zz That will be because his bass drums are triggered for a clearer sound at those high speeds so it doesn't sound like gurble.

  • @Davemackintoshforce actually he uses e-pads instead of the bass drums, they're just for show

  • @iCe1984zz I noticied the Resonate heads on the basses werent moving at all.

  • @BubbleRapOwns Yeah, looks like he's using this a Roland KD7 Kick Drum Trigger (search for it on Google)

  • I remember this guy. He fisted a bitch once. The other day the girl died xD

  • All members of DragonForce are inhuman on their instruments o0 ^^ (Y) Thumps up if you think they're sons of the devil with those epic rock n' roll skills ^^

  • Does he remind anyone else of timothy spall?

  • ...But he uses Paiste Rudes in the video?

  • @FSmith1996 He changed to Meinl

  • this dude deserves sex

  • They should give drum clinics more life instead of just sitting there

  • 1:56 Lars Ulrich wishes he could do that in Blackened

  • IMO, he's the only thing dragonforce has going for them.

  • @xgame511 Look up maladaptive, it's the bassists side project where he plays guitar. Actually pretty fucking good.

  • Props to the guy and DF rules and everything but... I pity the crowd. I'd feel scammed just to see the drummer and not the entire band playing to songs OF SAID MISSING BAND.

  • Can u be my devastating teacher?

  • You know there's a difference between not liking something, and it sucking. If you don't like it...FINE! I can't change your opinion, and don't try and change mine. But don't say he (or all of DragonForce for that matter) sucks...because clearly they are all great musicians...whether you like it or not!

  • All I have to say, is when you can drum like him, and play all his drum solos just like he can, then you can say he sucks, but until then, you have no room to say him, or anyone from DragonForce for that matter sucks.

  • Man the crowd SUCKED! This guy should be the new Energizer mascot, he's a beast! :D

  • @RefugefortheRestless

Its a drum clinic not a concert.. Thet aren't there to jump around! :P

  • @passionoflovers Haha I know, but still not a single applaud during the middle of it. Unless the mics were so condensed that you couldn't hear them, which is possible, but I would have been "WHOOO!!" XD

  • Man i love his Cymbals,I meen,man,Killer sound!

    Dave is awesome,DF rules!!!

  • If only he used Remo heads, then this set would be perfect.

  • @doublebassheeltoe

    Fuck Remo's,He uses Evans,

  • What's so bad about triggering your kicks? Dave plays solidy for 1 hour - 1 hour and a half at concerts , if there's anything he can do to make it easier, he's chosen to trigger his kicks, not only to make it slightly easier but at those speeds it's hard to distinguish the kicks so triggering is what many bands at fast tempos do.

  • wow.

  • Mackintosh is SERIOUSLY underrated.

  • at 1:56 why is the bass goin rly fast when hes barely moving his legs??

  • @ChrisAdlerWannaBe he's probably using triggered kick drums and doublestroking with his feet

  • @amenrofl his pedals dont the bass drum at all, they hit a rubber pad on the floor, his beaters face down the way, they dont go anywhere near his kick drums

  • @ChrisAdlerWannaBe Something called heel-toe.

  • @lfcbenitez123 thats what i thought it was but my other thought was a quad bass

  • I don't care what anyone says about playing fast, this guy is good.

  • This man is the real player.

  • Dave Mackintosh ROCKS!!!! :D

  • This man CAN play, he is not fakin' it :)

  • BEST OF DRAGONFORCE ♥

  • this guy uses every single drum there cause if hi never used some then they wouldnt be there would they?? yea got u there!

they never speed up their songs. u people are WRONG! their ability to play fast is from experience. so u people are just jealous that they can play good

  • this guy uses every single drum there cause if hi never used some then they wouldnt be there would they?? yea got u there!

they never speed up their songs. u people are WRONG! their ability to play fast is from experience. so u people are just jealous

  • very good work its awesome playing

  • best dragonforce cover i've seen ;)

  • @RYCAguitar Best Cover, he's their drummer ..

  • @Davemackintoshforce one of the reasons i put a winky face :)

  • I love his voice at the very end. He sounds so polite and nervous.

  • 1:19. the burst beat on the double bass is crazy

  • 1:19 is fucking crazy, this guy is uhmazing

  • It sucks. Too Mechanic. Were is the musicality?

  • • „¸¨°º¤ø„¸!.,,.!¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨

    ¨°º¤ø„¸ Dragonforce „ø¤º°¨

    ¸„ø¤º°¨ ROCKS!! ``°º¤ø„¸

    ¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø„¸¨°º¤ø ♫☻╚oVe☻♫ D Force

    ♫☻╚oVe☻♫ Dragonforce Dragonforce FOREVER

  • love his blast beats but do you notice that his drumming pattern is amost identical in most dragonforce song

  • THIS GUY IS THE DRUMS GOD!!!! RIGHT!!??? AWESOME

  • Its inhuman =X

Even without the virtuality of the studios dave mackintosh rulles

  • @RodrigoM3llo it's inhuman RAMPAGE=D

  • i thought he used paste cymbals

  • @MyAbomination1 "Paiste".

  • I hope some of you commenting on drum triggers understand that they do have their place in smaller venues. He needs a precise and exact sound that would be drowned out by those tama bass drums. He actually uses both the triggers and actual drums at larger venues. It's all about acoustics.

  • @nupraptorspillar true what you said, but i went to abigger venue and still was using them, people do have to understand that beside great music and great hands, the guy just doesn't have really great footwork, and needs triggers to ligtly tap them to keep up with his drumming.

If it was like that why people like john Tempesta, and Dave lombardo never use triggers, no matter the venue?

If you use the correct microphone setting, no matter the venue the drum will sound just fine.

  • @TheRealAxelFury I never said he doesn't use them, just that he uses both sometimes.

You may be right, but I have gotten a good idea of his playing ability and he has fantastic chops.

In my experiences it seems to come down to what a band's sound engineer thinks would sound best for the venue.

Also, Lombardo is one of my favorite metal drummers but he's not constantly playing his pedals at those insanely fast speeds that guys like Mackintosh and Sandoval do.

  • @nupraptorspillar sure i do too recognize his overall ability, that makes him a good drummer.

just pointing out that af far as i always saw, he never played really on the bassdrums because he preferred/needed the triggers.

True on Lombardo, but i can come up with Kollias, and you can give him basically any decent pedal and he will play blast for long time and constat High Bpm songs.

i just wanted to point out that, but never disrespect the talet that this guy shows.

  • I hate dragonforce, but Mackintosh is a damn good drummer

  • @MrFalobalobalob i hit the wrong button
