  • My Dad was in the USAAF and worked on P-38s in France during World War II. Neat video. I guess this P-38L is not on permanent display there?

  • @RiotNrrrdUTube Thanks for the comment. I love hearing from people who had relatives in The War. I'll bet you have some great old photographs and maybe a couple stories to hold on to. The P-38L isn't a permanent part of their collection. It was flown in especially for this event. Unfortunately I do not know where it originates from. If anyone knows please comment. There are only a few (8 I think) P-38s flying these days. Was an honor to see one fly so close to me.

  • @danbuchmeier Dan, I found another video here on YouTube with what looks like the same plane. It says the owner keeps it in Chino. I have one photo of my Dad with his fellow mechanic(?) standing up against the rear "wing" of the P-38. Unfortunately this being YouTube I can't post a URL for it.

  • @RiotNrrrdUTube It's possible it is from Chino. Planes of Fame is out there, but I'm pretty sure they just have the one P-38 "23 Skidoo" But maybe it's Yanks Museums(?) which is very close by.

  • @danbuchmeier if you wanted to email the photo try d buchmeier (at) thewarshop
