I can always turn to Rumi when the burdens of life become overwhelming, but this does not lift the weight of these burdens... It opens my eyes to the beauty of having the strength to carry them at all.
Rumi comes from a place of love and compassion, that is all that matters to me.
I can always come to Rumi when the burdens of life seem unbearable, and he does not lift the weight, but shows me the beauty of being asked to bear them...
for me, this is about the water cycle, the cycle between feelings and thoughts, journeying between heart/mind, and giving wingz to the bird of the mind and taking flite thru the crown and into God-consciousness and beginning with that new life, the life of the new man, the new age man, Aquarius.. I hope yu are all prepared for this transition between pisces and aQuaraysh/Aquarius, the age of Mohammad [PBUH] Peace!

An untamed Scarlet Visonay. A poetic Angelic flower spun with the muse of creative defiance. The wayward Skylit wanderer. How your destiny clings beneath the mysterys
@wellandso What you quoted is a state that overtakes the Sufis. Its called "Fana fil Haqq" ie "Absorbed/lost/non-existent in Divinity" then they proceed to a state called
"Baqa" ie "Existence", where they feel that they are everything ie trees, water, earth, sky etc then they are overtaken by a state called "Laqa" ie "both existing and non-existing at the same time". Often miracles, called "kiramat", takes place at the hands of Sufis, in a state called "Wajad"...
tears roll out, taking this trip with you, unconceivable walk trough life into death and beyond, what a wonder what a mistery, what an everlasting walk of life life kissing itself to life, wispering it back home into death vaporising into the seas of emptiness and possibilities of forms and energy. thank you
"I am the servant of the Qur'an as long as I have life. I am the dust on the path of Muhammad, the Chosen One. If anyone quotes anything except this from my sayings, I am quit of him and outraged by these words."

He was a devout Sufi Muslim and its very evident by his poetry and works.
I usually like sufi poetry, music & dance. But the ultimate purpose of sufism is in sharp contradiction with the conception of the universe that I know.
If you merge with the creator, if you become cosmic matter or if you let the self die, your only essence is gone. You commit a spiritual suicide
Dying is not dying of body. It is the dying of self.. Die and you will be born.. Die and you will see the joy. Die and you will see the light. Die and you will see the life.
The meaning of this is "stepping" out of the "you" "you" thought/felt you were into the real YOU beyond your fears, habits & limiting beliefs to share the consciousness of Unity. Called liberation, or enlightenment, leaving the haven of the ego, or "ego death" sometimes happens spontaneously, and is shared by all great teachers - Rumi, Jesus, Ramakrishna, Buddha, Yogananda, Babaji etc. Whether you feel it's why you are here can be sort of a measure of your proximity to it, tho not necessarily.
@icygrene the meaning is ego-death which is to stop mental noise and feel god and the divine, and connected to everything. this is true meditation and rumi was a master of it
As these violins play the strings of my heart, and the words the halls of my mind, I flow out of my skin into the ocean which refuses no river and holds all human spirit endlessly, joyously, joined in depth of life and love.
Rumi did it without the violins; one genie that left the bottle, never to return; vaporizing this dark container of illusion forever.

Without any doubt Maulana Rumi is a great Philosopher, poet and Darwesh (saint) of his time. People please think before you open your foul mouth and chill.
sufism is the soul of islam without sufism islam is incomplete just like any living being without soul it cannot live!! sufism brings love and peace to society.
Rumi was a man of Fiqh and taught that tassawuf(spirituality) and fiqh(islamic jurispudence) and are inclusive of one another. Those who say Rumi wasn't a muslim. I say this, he was the Prophets right hand man, he was the manifestation of the Prophets light on this earth. Sufism is Islam and Islam is sufism. Don't let the western orientalists or the wahhabi muslims hijack the work of a man who was a bridge between east and west. But don't forget he was totally and utterly immersed in Islam.
you are an imbecile. Prophet's right hand? Get a grip of yourself fool. he's just a guy who was a philosopher. Simple as, read the Qur'an instead and its interpretation instead of poetry that borders on porn.
I like when people share their comments whether agree or disagree, but why do some people find it necessary to insult someone that they do agrre with? Have you always been a bully or are you a product of bullying? Either way, to me comments like yours seem to come from a scared soul. Don't be scared.
The negative comments are sad to see. Rumi surpassed religion. Most of Rumis poems were about the Prophet Muhammad praising him by his name, the 'orientalists' have deleted the Prophets name and replaced with the name 'beloved'.

I'm not a particularly religious person, but these words along with this video has helped me more than you'll ever know through the grief of losing my mother.
You relay a powerful message.
My human and heartfelt regards to you and yours. x
My deepest sympathy for you... I lost my mother 2 years ago and have missed her achingly in an unexpressible way. It's a universal experience, and a rite of passage to adulthood. Cherish the memories you have.
if you really wish to look at the true islam, and the real spirit behind the message of the Prophet Muhammad sallahu 3laye wasalam then look at the likes of Rumi for they were the real muslims, not the wahhabi salafis & those in their orbit like the terrorists who have hijacked this great religion and deviated from the orthodox islamic path
Rumi had far surpassed Islamic religion. You Islamist wish you could brand the great Persian poets as Islamist but you cant, unlike your kind & your prophet we love life. One reaches much higher plateau than a backward, ignorant religion of a Bedouin Arab.
unfortunately it seem to be the destiny even of religion. misconceptions, musunderstanding, and false interpretation, because the mind ist confused. and if the mind lacks clarity, how can any human share love?

thank you so much for this. it is so easy to get sucked in this material world, with all these distractions. We all need to practice stillness in our lives, and truly see everyone as one. Each and everyone has the same essence. i hope we all are able to die and sense the speechless moon in our selves.
beautiful uplifting words by Rumi ji. My friend Rumi ji was not a poet, he was a Spirtual Master of his time. Rumi ji is explaining the deep secret of liberating ur soul and meeting the ultimate not after death but in this very life time
Muhamad Jalal Uddin Rumi is the farther of the great man who brought my country to Islam, how much more proud can i be for them..... May Allah Grant Forever Mercy On Them. Amin
I was wondering where you found the translations for these beautiful poems. Is there a book that you referred to for the text? Amazing Poetry, Amazing Beauty, Amazing Peace.
Gosh the power of his words is unimaginable! I am so proud of you Maulana Balkhi/Rumi. Our world your thoughts the most these days. I just wonder translation of which original poem of Maulavi was this...
i can't handle fact how much ignorance and hate exist in human beings, we live in so beautifull planet in magnificent place in space and we can't perceive it. People must understand that we can't build a societys of the future without intercourse tolerance and global respect including protect the nature.
" there isn't exist a shadow in the world who would be more shadow than other" Nemer Ibn El Barud
That is so true. We have to show respect to even the weakest creature on earth, e.g. the people of this world must evolve towards veganism or at least vegetarianism. Otherwise we can't save this planet.
so beautiful and really, this is exactly what the western world needs right now, when the dark clouds of market fundamentalism have blocked out the light.
We are the totality of our choices and our meanings are but the momentum that expels us forward towards our unity with self. What is life, what is death? Well, what is it to you and that will be exactly what it is. There is no-thing outside the realm of self but the empty longing of want. Become fulfillment by being fulfilled.
"We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of apostles; We gave Jesus the son of Mary clear Signs and strengthened him with the holy spirit..." (2:87)
"Say ye: "We believe in God, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to all prophets from their Lord. We make no difference between one and another of them: unto God we have surrendered. [lit. "unto God we are Muslims"] (2:136)

Buddhist, sufi, or zen. Not any religion

from the ground, not natural or ethereal, not
composed of elements at all. I do not exist,

The soul comes from Light.
And to Light is the destination.

I'm not a particularly religious person, but these words along with this video has helped me more than you'll ever know through the grief of losing my mother.
You relay a powerful message.
My human and heartfelt regards to you and yours. x

Thank you for letting me know this. I too recently lost my mother. There is a beautiful Rumi poem on aging that I would post here but it's too long.
It's begins "Why does a date-palm lose its leaves in autumn?
Why does every beautiful face grow in old age?"
It is one of the most beautiful explanations of death I have ever read.

My deepest sympathy for you... I lost my mother 2 years ago and have missed her achingly in an unexpressible way. It's a universal experience, and a rite of passage to adulthood. Cherish the memories you have.

"Now, you should know that Muhammad (PBUH) is the leader and guide.
As long as you don't come by Muhammad (PBUH) first, you won't reach us."
- Mowlana Jalaluddin Rumi (RA)
"I am the servant of the Qur'an as long as I have life.
I am the dust on the path of Muhammad (PBUH), the Chosen One.
If anyone quotes anything except this from my sayings,
I am quit of him and outraged by these words"
- Mowlana Jalaluddin Rumi (RA)

if you really wish to look at the true islam, and the real spirit behind the message of the Prophet Muhammad sallahu 3laye wasalam then look at the likes of Rumi for they were the real muslims, not the wahhabi salafis & those in their orbit like the terrorists who have hijacked this great religion and deviated from the orthodox islamic path
aazarinni 2 years ago

Does anyone know where I can find the Persian translation of this Poem? Rumi's poetry is one of the most rhythmic poetries when read in Farsi.
Thanks in advance for replies.

i can't handle fact how much ignorance and hate exist in human beings, we live in so beautifull planet in magnificent place in space and we can't perceive it.
