It IS fake. This was part of Ellen's 12 Days fakeout where everyday for 12 days, Ellen played a prank on the audience. The music at the end signaled to the audience that it was fake. Ellen would not laugh or smile after a proposal fail let alone show it to the public. She is too cool for that! :)
