I really wish they didn't tear down Poplar Creek. Loved the outdoor venue and didn't get to see enough great bands there, although I did see Chicago. Would have loved to see this concert

Very nicely done. Glad you taped it. Anyone who says otherwise...Why,..I oughta! I think the fact you were to side of path of speakers kept distortion down-it worked out. I play some bits and pieces of their stuff. I manage a fairly good complete version of one or two of 'em, along with other arrangements & my own stuff (music & comedy/music). I was at the show too. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I saw the earlier show with Drew Zing on guitar. Also the NY Rock & Soul Review show on the same stage. Poplar Creek was wonderful and Thompson will burn in hell for letting Sears tear it down. They replaced it with a hideous hockey barn with no acoustics at all. Bastards. I caught SD in July at the Chicago Theater and last year at the Auditorium Theater. Chicago loves SD. Lets have more!

I was at this show! SD's last performance at Popular Creek and the last show I saw there. Thanks to Sears and the corrupt Illinois politicians, they tore down that beautiful theatre. And then I hear today that they finally busted Governor Blago. What a mess. I wish I could return to 1994 and this concert. Thank you SD for all the great music.

Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour recorded the guitars tracks for Deacon Blues on the orignal AJA album. Actually, Larry and Lee laid down a lot of the guitar tracks for SD and contributed more to the sound of SD then most might know.

I've had the pleasure to see Becker, Carlton and Ritenour play in recent years. I'll be kind and just say that Larry and Lee still shread the guitar on stage - Blues, Jazz, Rock...

I don´t think Mr. Walter Becker needs any of your kindness...for one thing, I bet both Larry and Lee would give a finger or two to be able to write tunes as musical, tasteful AND memorable as Walter´s (and Donald´s)...plus, he is a REALLY GOOD guitarist in his own right(check out his solo on "Godwhacker", proof that you don´t always have to "shred" to make a valid musical statement). Speed versus taste again? Oh, no...

steely dan's music mesmerizes me and I dont even use that word in my everyday vocab. MESMERIZING MUSIC AT ITS BEST. ARTISTIC SOMETHING that is lacking in the industry. They got rid of the adults and kept the kids in music. Music has suffered ever since. The music moguls don't want nothing but complicity from the artists. Adult(over 25) would never stand for that for the SAKE OF GOOD MUSIC.

Wow! I was at this concert. You are correct about the vibe with the crowd. They applauded solos (and sections of their songs) like it was a jazz concert. Also, the immortal Roger Nichols was running the monitors for the band that night. This concert is one I will never forget.
