this tactic is universal, but it comes at a cost.you devote a significant part of the army to that very distraction(ex:SM bikes and a rhino that moves on a road(extra 6 inches make cruising speed into combat speed)),that way you ignore other core enemy units, and pull away units from a battle until turn 2,3.
Jetbikes are expensive to do. I wonder if this works for Dark Eldar with Reavers....they share the speed. I have Craftworld Eldar but I never bothered with Jetbikes.
I don't get it. If you move from the centre to a flank, don't do any shooting with the bikes (turboboost), then they move to react and you redeploy back to the centre, what have you accomplished? You haven't got rid of that reactionary force or even out-manoeuvred it. Aren't you both in the centre? Because their units don't move as fast as yours, they never made it as far down that flank as you did anyway, so by you redeploying, aren't you just the same distance from them on the other side?
Your videos are awesome, I love them, thx for nice tactica, really needed it. I'm pretty new in the gaming society, but hopefully It will advance into something. Of course I'm playin eldar, they're AWESOME!!!!!
do you think this could work with Necrons? I was thinking of using possibly one squad of Destroyers, possibly 3 units, then have the Destroyer lord and Scarabs move with them. I'm a Necron player and just thought of that to be honest.
@AngryCaboose well that would work if you have some destroyers coming up on say the right side with some warriors. and a monolith only a short distance away for the warriors to phase out to the other side of the board then turbo boost the destroyers and kill them all for the ctan! (i play necrons too :) )
could i have your full army list w/ points? I play guard but i'm going to start a saim-hann army after i reach 1500 points which is only about 2 tanks away.
This tactic is sound but you have admitted that you have given up a turn. The board you were playing the warmaster on was still quite small and plenty of cover for your army. I didnt really see that the warmaster "fell" for the tactic or was lured away and i feel that on the top/right flank you simply outnumbered him.
Really Brilliant Tactic, kind of like what Alexander the Great would do during the epic battle in his movie. Using his horse to pull on one side and then launch a reassault in the middle. Brilliant Tactic, i'm going to see if I can pull this tactic in the upcoming Imperial Guard codex. Thanks for the inspiration
I have seen Fritz pull this trick time and again, and have adapted it for use with my Blood Angels. I sometimes will deploy my forces in one place, knowing that my opponent will counter his deployment, and then I will fast move my stuff to another spot, leaving him unable to counter with his slower moving stuff. It is way more effective with SH though.
When I started playing, he beat me up and down with glee. Now... I cant get him on the table. As far as winning with his SH army, he will rarely lose a game. Worst he ever does is a tie.
your currently working on some new IG tactics, on your blog, Ive had a look the reference sheet for new IG codex, and sure you already no this but grouping 20models against some of the ordnance weapon's that IG are going to be packing is going to mean death i don't have the sheet but i think one weapon was 1D3+3 blast S10 AP1, unlimited range, can't remember, i think that's one of nine or ten ordnance weapons, and a lot of different leman russ configurations.

I am going to try something like this with my Eldar Frigates and light cruisers (the ones with Pulsar Lances and torpedoes)--in BFG.

ironically, I actually did this exact same move, of all things, playing Marco Polo while swimming. I never thought to apply it to my Eldarz.
