Auge do Angra, com certeza! Esse disco é mais do que um álbum de metal, é uma obra de arte, uma ópera! Fantástico! E a banda arregaçava nas performances ao vivo, inclusive o Edu.

naum cara, os testiculos dos eunucos são removidos pelo mal desenvolvimento dos testiculos, ou seja, é uma doença... No caso dos Castratos sim, o penis era removido pra voz ficar fina e talz...
Também existiram (e pelo visto ainda existe) muitos casos em que os testiculos eram arrancados dos jovens durante a sua puberdade, para que a voz se mantivesse fina (afeminada).
Na maior parte desses casos, esta operação era feita em jovens selecionados a participar de corais.

Just want you to know that you didn't mention one song he actualy sang (they're all singed by André matos). If you're looking for range, i would say Daniel gildenlöw and Geoff tate. My opionion to this guy is that he can take the high notes, he just loose some power, and looses the clearity a bit. He's got high notes, but i have never heard any note by him that was particularly low. I don't htink he have a lot of octaves to be hornest.

The facts are that if you look up a variety of live shows for Temple of Shadows you can HEAR what were talking about in regards to Edu losing the ability to sing in a higher register.

Puts, esse foi o primeiro show do Angra que eu fui, saí de Ubirajara pra Lins, eu nem sabia onde fikava, só que fikava perto de Marília, dormimos na rodoviária, inesquecível, eu nem sabia que tinha vídeos desse dia, eu nunca encontrei nada, mas puts muito loko....
A fairer comparison would be Ritualive w that first show from Angra w Edu, and I think you know Ritualive destroys it. Most people in Brazil also I think would not consider Angra real Angra, but that Shamaan was the continuation of Angra. Regarding Ritualive, I know people who are connected w Matos and went to Ritualive, r u so sure it was over dubbed??
Either its overdubbed, or Matos only tried to sing his best on that gig, because every other video with him singing is not a very good performance. And its not the sound quality to blame, its simply not his best singing. He's not going full value for the notes, hes straining, shouting, sounding nothing like he does on the records. This leads me to believe that Ritualive was dubbed afterwards, which is entirely plausible, or that Matos simply does not care about his performances.
I have a LOT of Matos' live shows saved in my favorites, which show(s) are you talking about? Everyone has bad days better, good, and great days, singing wise, but I really just don't know what you're talking about.
I have no idea what you are talking about man..sorry. But I think its an ok place to talk about Andre Matos since its a thread about Angra, and the real Angra was the original line up. Angra w Edu is good, but not as good )vocally) w Edu singing. Andre Matos is way better. Edu has an acid reflux problem which has apparently burned his upper register, this is why if you do a search for Temple of Shadows live shows, you can hear how horrible he sounds now.
Besides that, while I'm no expert, I think his voice expresses a continued travel into darkness +negativity+depression even, that probably effected his reflux condition. If you look at their lyrics they were on a steady decline into negativity cynicism and disbelief I think that were apparent especially in TOS. He had a good full voice, but Matos has an AMAZING clean, soft, uniquely powerful voice.

Andre Matos' voice isnt more beautiful, its more beautiful AND WAY better than Edus. Edu is a good singer, but not in the same league w Matos via musicianship, stage presence, or anything else really.
Matos' voice is nicer sounding in the studio when they have pro-tools and melodyne to get it sounding good. Listen to any live performance of his besides Ritualive and he doesn't sound that great, because its so obvious he and the rest of the band dubbed over ritualive. Edu's performance on Rebirth was much better than anything Matos put out earlier, its just a shame that he lost his voice and can't sing anymore.
I don't agree. I've seen practically everything live on youtube of Matos and couldn't disagree more. Bad sounding recordings don't= bad singing, theres a difference. I have followed Edu and IF he kept singing with the technique he did in the first few albums, with the same more hopeful thinking that Angra had always had w Matos, I think he could have kept his voice, but I've tried singing Temple of Shadow stuff and you cannot keep that going.
Matos only sounds good on Ritualive because it was mostly dubbed over afterwards like most bands do with their live concert recordings. But listen to him on Live TV broadcasts and he doesn't sound so good. His performance of Carry On with Shaman on Musikaos is much inferior to Edu's performance of Nova Era and Millenium Sun on the same show. Granted, Edu now sounds like complete crap, so yes Matos sounds better now than Edu sounds, but I preferred Edu's voice when he could actually sing.
You think its a fair comparison between Musickaos where Shaman was performing for the first time, material that was not even finally mixed or completed, without a cd release as some preview, on a TV show budget/production quality, WITH that huge heavily funded live concert from Angra w Edu?? Angra already had a new complete CD, Edu sounded his best then, particularly on their new material, but you don't think he RUINED the old Angra songs??
Shaman was playing Carry On, a song that all three of them knew very well. I'm not comparing Angra's Rebirth dvd, I'm comparing Angra and Shaman on the exact same tv show. Edu's performance on that show was simply so much better than Matos, and its not from the sound quality, either. Matos shortbreaths most of the lyrics, doesn't sing with full tone, all around its a bad performance.
yes, it is bizzare how Edu's voice has changed. He was excellant during Rebirth. But Angra's Temple of Hate is a masterpiece never the less, and he (Edu) doesn't sound too bad here. Long live Angra!!!
If you just do a search for more recent Angra live shows with Edu (between 2006-2007 or even earlier) you will see what his voice is like live..terrible. Poor guy has some acid reflux problem or something.
Youre probebly right. I have loved Angra since the beginning (mostly with Andre Matos in it) but Edu is a good singer, and I really like the song composition and especially the guitar work from the two after the original line up as well. Too bad I hear they broke up. My 3 most favorite bands have been X-Japan, Angra, and Aquaria.

Existe uma clausula contratual no angra que exige que o vocalista seja eunuco para ingressar na banda.

Os cantores eunucos eram muito comuns nos tempos antigos.

Yea speaking in a foreign language doesnt help either for some reason Guidao..but I can make out that your insulting both manwthemoves and myself so if you have no real arguments, and only insults, what are you saying? The facts are that if you look up a variety of live shows for Temple of Shadows you can HEAR what were talking about in regards to Edu losing the ability to sing in a higher register.

Puts, esse foi o primeiro show do Angra que eu fui, saí de Ubirajara pra Lins, eu nem sabia onde fikava, só que fikava perto de Marília, dormimos na rodoviária, inesquecível, eu nem sabia que tinha vídeos desse dia, eu nunca encontrei nada, mas puts muito loko....

A fairer comparison would be Ritualive w that first show from Angra w Edu, and I think you know Ritualive destroys it. Most people in Brazil also I think would not consider Angra real Angra, but that Shamaan was the continuation of Angra. Regarding Ritualive, I know people who are connected w Matos and went to Ritualive, r u so sure it was over dubbed??

Either its overdubbed, or Matos only tried to sing his best on that gig, because every other video with him singing is not a very good performance. And its not the sound quality to blame, its simply not his best singing. He's not going full value for the notes, hes straining, shouting, sounding nothing like he does on the records. This leads me to believe that Ritualive was dubbed afterwards, which is entirely plausible, or that Matos simply does not care about his performances.

I have a LOT of Matos' live shows saved in my favorites, which show(s) are you talking about? Everyone has bad days better, good, and great days, singing wise, but I really just don't know what you're talking about.

I have no idea what you are talking about man..sorry. But I think its an ok place to talk about Andre Matos since its a thread about Angra, and the real Angra was the original line up. Angra w Edu is good, but not as good )vocally) w Edu singing. Andre Matos is way better. Edu has an acid reflux problem which has apparently burned his upper register, this is why if you do a search for Temple of Shadows live shows, you can hear how horrible he sounds now.

Besides that, while I'm no expert, I think his voice expresses a continued travel into darkness +negativity+depression even, that probably effected his reflux condition. If you look at their lyrics they were on a steady decline into negativity cynicism and disbelief I think that were apparent especially in TOS. He had a good full voice, but Matos has an AMAZING clean, soft, uniquely powerful voice.

Andre Matos' voice isnt more beautiful, its more beautiful AND WAY better than Edus. Edu is a good singer, but not in the same league w Matos via musicianship, stage presence, or anything else really.

Matos' voice is nicer sounding in the studio when they have pro-tools and melodyne to get it sounding good. Listen to any live performance of his besides Ritualive and he doesn't sound that great, because its so obvious he and the rest of the band dubbed over ritualive. Edu's performance on Rebirth was much better than anything Matos put out earlier, its just a shame that he lost his voice and can't sing anymore.

I don't agree. I've seen practically everything live on youtube of Matos and couldn't disagree more. Bad sounding recordings don't= bad singing, theres a difference. I have followed Edu and IF he kept singing with the technique he did in the first few albums, with the same more hopeful thinking that Angra had always had w Matos, I think he could have kept his voice, but I've tried singing Temple of Shadow stuff and you cannot keep that going.

Matos only sounds good on Ritualive because it was mostly dubbed over afterwards like most bands do with their live concert recordings. But listen to him on Live TV broadcasts and he doesn't sound so good. His performance of Carry On with Shaman on Musikaos is much inferior to Edu's performance of Nova Era and Millenium Sun on the same show. Granted, Edu now sounds like complete crap, so yes Matos sounds better now than Edu sounds, but I preferred Edu's voice when he could actually sing.

You think its a fair comparison between Musickaos where Shaman was performing for the first time, material that was not even finally mixed or completed, without a cd release as some preview, on a TV show budget/production quality, WITH that huge heavily funded live concert from Angra w Edu?? Angra already had a new complete CD, Edu sounded his best then, particularly on their new material, but you don't think he RUINED the old Angra songs??

Shaman was playing Carry On, a song that all three of them knew very well. I'm not comparing Angra's Rebirth dvd, I'm comparing Angra and Shaman on the exact same tv show. Edu's performance on that show was simply so much better than Matos, and its not from the sound quality, either. Matos shortbreaths most of the lyrics, doesn't sing with full tone, all around its a bad performance.

yes, it is bizzare how Edu's voice has changed. He was excellant during Rebirth. But Angra's Temple of Hate is a masterpiece never the less, and he (Edu) doesn't sound too bad here. Long live Angra!!!

If you just do a search for more recent Angra live shows with Edu (between 2006-2007 or even earlier) you will see what his voice is like live..terrible. Poor guy has some acid reflux problem or something.

Yeah, his voice sounded really bad in the Piaui Pop 2005. I think he lost it on the Japanese leg of the tour.

Youre probebly right. I have loved Angra since the beginning (mostly with Andre Matos in it) but Edu is a good singer, and I really like the song composition and especially the guitar work from the two after the original line up as well. Too bad I hear they broke up. My 3 most favorite bands have been X-Japan, Angra, and Aquaria.
