  • awesome someone finally doing what i was thinking, im looking at 20watt led lights on ebay and the 45 degree lenses to use on my car, im still confused about the whole resistor thing ill figure that out, Im ganna be getting the cool white the 6500k kind and use them as regular headlights, i am [pretty sure its illegal but eh ill just say i bought the car was the dealer that way, couldn't be too much of a ticket anyway, but yeh what kind of resistor did u use or regulated power supply?

  • @kykyred1 For the video I used an adjustable power supply. I've been running one on my bicycle and use a small lithium 12v battery. You will need some kind of a resistor to get the voltage/amperage right. Good luck with your project!

  • That's a pretty powerful LED. Why's it yellow though?

  • @sweetlikeADAM it was supposed to be "warm white" instead what they did was color the lense, making it a gold/yellow color. There are now 10 watt LEDs with a built in 60 degree lens. I have a couple coming in for testing, maybe I'll post another video. Also check out a video I made using 6 of them to light up the bowl at our skatepark.

  • I used a LCD power adapter. It puts out 12v and max 5 amps. The heat sink got hot, as did the light. I was using it outdoors and it was cool and breezy so it wasn't an issue. Thanks for watching.

  • What did you power this with. 12v at 1 amp? Did you use a special power supply that they sell for them or something else? Was that small heatsink enough for long term usage?
