  • windows xp is still my fav

  • This is so beautiful. I'm going to set this as my Windows 7 Home Premium startup

  • I prefer this to the final sound.

  • How many OS' did Windows make that I have no idea about and have heard of today?

    1. ME

    2. Server 2003

  • @Squeredead There Are Many More..

  • @Squeredead

Windows ME was the homeedition of Windows 2000. It was DOS-based instead of NT-based.

Server 2003 is being used on servers at libraries and schools.

Longhorn was the codename of Windows Vista.

Windows NT is not a Windows version, but the modern Windows operating system kernel. But there was a version callesd Windows NT 4.0. It was released in 1996.

  • It's beautiful *.*

  • They should put this sound on windows 8!!!

  • @babyswagger125 Its not the OS RELEASE its the beta they have different startup sounds

  • Thumbs up if you think Windows Vista should've had this for their startup instead of the crap sound we hear now.

  • Is there somewhere I can get the Windows Vista Beta logon and logoff sounds? I want to use them for when I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate on my computer. I already have the Vista beta startup and shutdown sounds but I don't have the logon and logoff sounds. Any help will be appreciated.

  • @MephilestheDarkLord im reeeeeel y GOING TO DELETE THIS

  • It sounds like Crossroads by Bone Thugs N Harmony is going to start up at the beginning.

  • It's real, dumbasses! It's everywhere in startup sound videos! Jesus Christ!

It's even in the Microsoft website..

  • It sounds like saying Longhorn, that's why I'm not using Longhorn and 7.

  • ... :D

  • Longhorn is long.

  • "LOOOOOOOOonghorrrn....."

For some reason, i have no idea why, but this startup sound creeps me out.

  • This shit is pretty sick. I wanna set this tone for my Windows XP start-up.

  • Had Vista, Beta 1, but had a virus :(

  • I think this startup is real, it sounds more real than the bullshit fake Whistler startup sound.

  • @SportaMega it is real, it is the beta and i prefer this over the vista/7 sound

  • @TeruMikami2345 Me too, I saw the other Beta sounds, they're awesome :O

  • @SportaMega they were epic, now its just "bing bing" and load

  • It kinda gets nostalgic at the end :/

  • This is the best <3

  • THIS IS FUCKING GORGEOUS, REAL OR NOT ♥

  • Why not? Very good...

  • what the fuck..

  • This sound is 100% fake.

Microsoft switched after Beta 1 from the XP Sounds to the Vista sounds, there were no ''longhorn'' sounds, they were just XP...

  • @MicrosoftCollectBook

right, I've installed Longhorn 5048 and it had the XP sounds.

  • @MicrosoftCollectBook Even if it's fake, it sounds a hundred times better then the official Vista and 7 sounds.

  • @MicrosoftCollectBook well i have this sound from the windows website so i don't think its fake.

  • @josephvanorsby78, Sorry then but you have been FOOLED by that website, this sound is 100% fake.

Install all builds yourself like I did, this sound is NOT there.

  • @josephvanorsby78 Well, you have been FOOLED (as said before). These sounds are 100% FAKE. Just fan made sounds.

  • This one is better

  • Sounds like Metroid.

  • i wan to hear this over and over

  • sounds kinda asian then again everything sounds asian to me

  • this looks more like the system is going to shutdown

  • 8 people have mac :P

  • @alyabyevvictor I have mac, but i like this sound!

  • my favorite windows login sound to date! Too bad Longhorn never became a final OS :(

  • damn i was waiting for a beat to drop .

  • This one is very nice, im gonna put this on my windows 7!

  • I love this noise =O why didn't they use this?!

  • Vista sucks

  • Much better than the one Vista has now.

  • I might get this, or XP sound. Both sound nice. :)

  • omg, this is SO Nice :)!! Melodic Elevation to New Heights of Technology..aahhhh

  • If theres Windows 100, This is the sound

  • this seems more vista-y. It works for the picture.

  • This one is beter then the vista tune they have now. but vista sucks.

  • i like this sound scheme

  • They should have used this for Win7. It would make it something beautyful

  • Thank u, thank u, thank u so much, u don not know how much I luv this sounds, that sounds give me beautiful remenbers when I was younger.

    I will be a programer!!!

  • Your computer...she sings sweetly to you, inspiring you to great heights as a powerful computer stuff-doer.

  • Your computer...she sings sweetly to you, inspiring you to be the best computer stuff-doer ever!

  • is there away on windows xp that u can change the boot up sound to windows 95

  • is there a link to download the windows 95 login sound for free

  • @Eagle8840 Just go watch my Windows 95 video. There is a link there.

  • thank u for the link!!

  • My friend has Vista and this is his startup sound. Perhaps it is downloadable?

  • @ben100014 Download link in the description.

  • @Ballyweg I saw that, but I meant by Microsoft officially. :P

  • @ben100014 Ah, well as you can read here, it was probably only used in a closed pre-beta, so I don't think Microsoft will upload this.

  • wtf

  • they should of used this for win 7 not the vista one

  • Sounds like something for FF

  • yeh i had one of my old comps doin tht for a while til the hole system corupted

  • This would be a great effect in a video game.

  • This startup sound would be great for a future operating system called Windows Hawaii! Look at it, it looked like a Hawaiian woman singing.

  • this would have made vista bearable

  • Sounds a lot more pretty and creative than the new one. They should've use the Vista Beta sounds for Windows 7

  • It's not the true beta startup sound. It's the XP sound.

  • Incredible, when I hear this I get the picture of the WTC being rebuild in my head ...

  • Now it's my tune when I turn my Win7 off.

  • I used to LOVE windows vista alot.

  • @computertechdude1234 me too UNTIL i found out how much crashes and freezes :/

  • It's.......Beautiful.....

Why the hell did Microsoft not use this???

I would rather listen to this then a simple to a 4 bleep startup sound with windows 7...

  • @TheMegaMonty Somewhere in late 2006, i think.

  • hey just wondering who composed the startup sound for windows vista beta, because it sounds pretty awesome.and if it was microsoft who composed it,then who in microsoft did the voice vocal part of the startup sound?

  • I actually don't know. Some say this is a fake and was never made by Microsoft. Others say they did in Vista Beta 2. I never had the Beta 2, so I can't tell.

  • @Ballyweg i think beta

  • @Ballyweg , Actually, it's real. It was used in a prototype Windows OS called Windows Longhorn. That was Vista's development name.

  • Oh, that's why I never had it myself. You think I should rename the Video to Longhorn?

  • @Ballyweg They did in Longhorn.

  • @Ballyweg beta 2 is real this sound is in there

  • @K8C10I It possibly could have been Robert Fripp. He recorded a whole lot of music for Windows Vista but for some reason non of it was used.

  • the singing annoys me. :/

  • stupid women song

  • Love this

  • i want a link to get OS

  • i had a notebook with vista, i haven't heart this sound, i install a design with vista, i hear this song... now, the real is crap, the fake is hot :D

  • when did windows vista beta released?

  • 眠くなる・・・(-_-)zZZ

  • @yuji19950311 da fuck?

  • How to use it as startup sound?

  • You can download it from youtube as MP3 with Free Youtube to MP3 from DVDVideosoft/dot/com. Then convert it to .wav with f.x DVDVideosoft Free Audio Converter. Then go to Control Panel -> Sounds -> Startup and select the convert .wav sound. Done.

  • @Ballyweg Thanks!

  • @Ballyweg

actually you can just download it with Free Youtube to MP3 and save as .wav

    ;D

  • Right, haven't downloaded anything for a while. They must have added that feature recently, thanks for the tip.

  • that song sucks ball...why everyone like female sound so much? it's just a fucking human female....

  • @hanrinch There's no song here :|

  • @hanrinch uhm doesnt really sound human .

  • it is human voice.....

  • @ikpakje4 , If you Windows XP, you can change the Windows startup sound. If you have Vista or 7, you can change the logon sound.

  • thank you

  • Vista beta is faster the new

  • good melody

  • This is what i have for windows 7 x64 bit. it was easy to install.

  • Windows 7 startup noise

  • You can actually still get these sounds on the vista inspirat, sorry 7 and vista users, it's only for xp

  • kind of sensual melody!

  • They should have used this sound for Vista and used the final Vista version on Windows 7.

  • wow, this music sucks, Sound like shes dying

  • Sexy! :P

  • THANKS FOR SHARING

  • They should've held out the last note with the voice a little longer...

  • don't know why but this sounds really pleasing. I have it on my custom W7 theme.

  • Traducción del español al inglésMostrar forma romanizada

Sounds like I can get the sounds of windos Vista Beta on and off

  • Hi I would like to know where you got the sound of windows vista beta

  • You can download it from youtube as MP3 from DVDVideosoft/dot/com

  • they didn't use it because it sucks......female sound sucks

  • I hope that Windows 8 (or whatever the next version will be) has these Vista Beta sounds!

  • you can just dl it and put it into your computer. however if you ask me the sound is absolutely terrible. why putting a female screaming sound at boot up and scare the crap out of the user.......

  • i dont have windows vista beta 1 so i like the startup sound thanks

  • Its real you dumbcakes

  • no, Vista Beta 1 had xp sounds, Beta 2 had these sounds, then the final we know has the rubbish sounds which also come with windows 7!

  • @lindsaymobil22 Wrong. Vista Beta 1, Beta 2, and RC all had the Windows XP sounds. I should know, I had Technet at the time and used all of them. I remember when the sounds from this vid got released on a forum somewhere, and then they were included in a Vista Transformation Pack, which is how people came to believe that they were actually in a Windows build.

  • Microsoft worked on Windows Longhorn (Windows Vista), 3 months before Windows XP was released. After a couple of years they canceled it then in 2005 (I think?) they restarted the project from scratch. And in 2007. The Beta 2 and Final came out.

  • Well I must admit I never had Vista Beta. One of the only ones I didnt have. So I cant tell...

  • @Ballyweg yeah i don't blame you lol. its an extremely widespread misconception.

  • @leimeisei909 It's not fake. :/

  • @NDogg15 Uh, yeah it is. You obviously never had Vista Beta.

  • @leimeisei909 No, but I know people who did. At least one of the betas had this sound.

  • Since there is no option to change the vista start up sound, will this method work? Delete the startup.wave then put another .wav and name it startup.wav will that work? It worked when I modified the music in combat arms. (Now I can listen to island in the sun by Weezer in zombie mode =) aka Quarantine mode)

  • You cannot change the startup sound, that is played before logging in. (In fact you could using Ressource hacker, but I wouldn't recommend it). This startup sound is compiled in the loading of windows.

You can change the sound that is played after you log in in control panel -> sound.

  • @Ballyweg you can change the start up sound as i changed my windows 7 logon sound to windows vista beta sound to do that just search on controll panel 4 sound then go on sound then 2 the 3rd column nd when u find windows logon u can choose the sound. Hope i helped

  • @Dnizzle7 Combat arms was not created by MICROSOFT. Combat arms was made for Windows. Microsoft made Windows THEREFORE. Nexon is Microsoft's bitch. And you cant do that in system32 -.-

  • @blazerx900 I never said anything about CA being made by MS, I'm just asking whether or not the same method would work on the Vista operating system. I was asking, can I simply replace the .WAV file with another .WAV like how I did for CA. It's as simple as that.

  • sounds someone having an orgasm

  • LOL

  • This sound reminds me of the anime "Phoenix."

  • maybe I will change my Linux PC to start up with this its quite sleek

  • microsoft

  • Why does it sound like something from a Metroid game?

  • because Samus iz in there lol kidding....Idk

  • sounds cool . . .

  • I just LOVE this sound. Shame to Microsoft for not including it in the final Vista or Windows 7!

  • @PChelp10 u could change ur start up sound to this

  • @fullmetalmc I know that.

  • PChelp10

is it possible that i can put this start up music in my windows 7 ultimate??, if yes then could u tell me how..

  • I don't know if you can or not

Sorry (i'm on my primary ID; PChelp10 is my secondary ID)

  • @MrBOXA01

You have to change a DLL

    neosmart . net/blog/2007/how-to-changing-the-windows-vista-startup-sound/

    remove the spaces :D

  • It sounds like an alian

  • My new ringtone...

  • I dont know why people think it sounds weird or anything. It just sounds beautiful to me.

  • It Sounds beautiful.

  • Really scary the first time I heard it, but it is better than the final..

  • I like the windows 2000 sound better.

  • should have used it for windows 7

  • Yeah, they should have used it for Win7.

Just like they should have included StartUp/ShutDown Classics like Win98, 2000/Me, XP and 3 other new StartUp/ShutDown sound options.

  • @FR3DisGAY , The final Windows Vista/7 startup sound took Microsoft 18 months to perfect it! Microsoft wouldn't care to change it. Besides, many Windows XP users haven't not even heard Vista's sound. Microsoft added it to Windows 7 for all users to listen. Remember, Windows 7 is a refined version of Vista. Windows ME used the same sounds from Windows 2000. It's 100% most likely that Windows 8 will have different sounds. My friend told me that the Vista Beta startup is scary. lol!

  • I got this one at a XP and it was there when i boutgh it O.o
