@kunnai its called Valsa de la Lune by yoko konno.
Most are too big and too fast for dwarf frogs. Occasionally he would get lucky with smaller shrimp, but this tank had a huge RCS colony so I could careless if he ate a few. Just because they try to eat the shrimp doesn't always mean they can. When your a dwarf frog, adult female cherries are no easy prey even if you can manage to catch them.
@amthebadman No you can have neither. You need to research your current stock much better. I highly doubt you have anywhere near enough gallons for the fish you listed. There are no fish friendly crabs, none of the ones you see normally sold are for freshwater and will die in a few months anyway. Dwarf frogs stay very small and need a small tank with peaceful fish which is opposite of what you have.
@amthebadman The clown loaches and bala shark you have require 75 gallons at the very very minimum. They will stunt and die young in a small tank. For this reason you should always research any pet before getting it.
Sorry, I actually keep cherry shrimp in my tank with my frog! The un-compatibilitty post was by my cousin. Q: Where did you get those amazing marimo balls? Thanks!
@Dontelai They are compatible if you set things up correctly. My shrimp continued breeding just fine with the frog in the tank. ADF are very unsuccessful with catching the shrimp. And it was 100 shrimp vs 1 frog. A few might be lost, but no more then the fish cause. Still considerable reproduction rate. The shrimp had lots of hidey places. This is something I enjoy doing, if you watch other videos I like to mix things that you would not expect to be compatible.
@branfrog Mine ate a few cherrys, but there where close to 100 shrimp in that tank. I am not bothered by the loss of a few shrimp. This frog eventually disappeared, meaning he died and the shrimp ate him. So things balance out in the end ;)
thankyou for your reply. it is a 50L arcadian tank with 3 mino albino frogs, about 2" in size so they will not eat them and just about 4 small shabunkins. what do you feed your shrimp? because they seem to like it lol
Woah! How are your shrimps these days? This is a great video.
I once had 8 Cherry shrimp in my current tank that has an ADF. The shrimp went missing after a few months with absolutely no sign or reason...water parameters were perfect! My LFS told me the frog ate them, but I've never seen him even attempt to bite at them...this video fills in the blank for me! :D
Cherry shrimps and ADFs are supposed to be good tank mates, but my shrimp became darn expensive froggy food!
There is a chance that he ate them. I'm pretty sure mines eaten a few of them. It doesn't really bother me, the shrimp breed enough that their is always another shrimp to take the place of any that get eaten. I cleaned my canister filter on my 55gal tank the other day and fished out about 24 live shrimps out of it and a couple fish fry.
What song is this?

I want to buy an 2 african dwarf frogs, but i'm scared that they will eat my shrimp (red cherry) are they compatible?
ciciironwill27 1 year ago
@ciciironwill27
They wont eat your shrimp whole- but WILL pick at it. legs and such :/
Eventually the shrimp will die and the frogs will eat them.
Not compatible.
I wish they were!!

casablanco0128 2 years ago
They were fighting over the food at 1:36. Depends on the tank, but I would start with at least a dozen.

They are eating some bloodworms in the video, they also enjoy algae wafers.
