Some day I'm going to come up with a scientific explanation of why 80+ year old recordings (and playing) sound superior to those made recently! Many disagree with me, but to my ears these recordings are hypnotizing - today's treble-heavy, room-filling sound overwhelms the listener in short time. Where was the term "listening fatigue" back then? It didn't exist. If anyone agrees with my "warped" view, please sound off!
This is simply priceless. Thanks for posting!

The best job of this piece on the YouTube. There can I hear supreme music played by marvelous fingers beyond noises and ages.

With an aristocrat and an aesthete like von Sauer, we can always expect beauty of tone, sensitivity of touch, and a respect for style.
