I think i know what era she is talkin about. Aboriginal werent allowed to get paid work for labour unless you were college educated and schools were only allowed aboiginal people in the 50s. they were sent out to work as stockmen, maids and cleaner for high people in the government. I remember my grandmother telling me when she woked on a cattle station she worked there for 14 years and she came back with only a pair of shoes her eldest brother worked on the cattle station all his entire life.

No, She's still Cuban, whether she has ever been there or not. That is her heritage. She identifies as American, because she is one, but her heritage is still Cuban. If you're background is Irish, your Irish, if Your background is Lebanese, You're Lebanese. Obviously you are American (if you are a citizen). If you were born here, you will be much closer (for the most part( to your American Heritage than your racial/ethnic background.

RPF was a bit fictious, they always do that to the story, and they overdid it for effect. Whether that is a right thing to do depends on the purpose, but you could call it propaganda in some way. However, the things that happened in the movie did happen, even if it didn't all happen to the actual girls it portray. The only thing they missed out on was the idea that mixed children would be rejected in the Aborigine communities, and maybe that happened, but it wasn't always the case, far from it.
