My Grandma's brother, Eli Delp, lived in Fries. My Grandmother was Ruth Delp. Does anyone know anything the Delps? We are doing a family history and trying to get all the info we can.
Local government is quite inept.....wanting to raise taxes on the machine shop guy...the only viable business in the town. How is the tourism industry working for you.....? You've torn down everything that would attract folks.
My grandmother lives there... her hosue is 10,000 square feet.. she owns a bunch of rolling cow land that she rents out..... she lives on lonesome oak
I know Jessie, i once lived down the road from him and Mary, up in Stevens Creek, Jessie is one of a kind, a good guy. I moved out of the Fries area 5 years ago. I go back from time to time and just drive around and do some fishing. Where do they play music at now that the resturant is closed after that pro gas tank explosion?
hey for all yall wantin to come to Fries.. come on.... we got motela andeverything now. But the cafe where the jam session was held in this video was condemnded. sry... anyway.. its a very small town.. but everyone know everybody... i live in fries...

Most recently living in NYC and now in Radford. my family names are Bond and Lineberry. Heath M. Lineberry was my grandfather as was Thomas Bond. My mother was Colleen Bond who died when I was 19.
Hey you crazychick bodran player, I know who you are! Excited to find this on youtube, will forward to Rob. I literally cried while we were packing up to leave the Fries Fiddlers' Convention this past Sunday morning, we had such a special time and now it sucks to be back in the Piedmont. We hope to visit Fries again SOON, I can hardly stand it!

My wife and I have just moved back to the area after I left in 1976. I has changed but Fries will always be the same and my home town. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it a lot. I lived in Fries until I was five. My Daddy and Mama both worked at the old cotton mill. I remember Jimmy Arnold ,he used to come to the house and played banjo with my Daddy! thanks again for the video!

We moved to Wisconsin about 3 years ago. After watching your video, I'm homesick for Virginia, where I was born and raised.
