My 2 year old Macbook pro has a performance index of 6.0 and that is fucking good compared to my classmates notebooks which are mostly new (Vaios, Fujitsus and Lenovos). My Macbook pro isnt even a unibody one!

And btw. I completed GTA IV , and other games on this very 2 year old Macbook pro. Compare that to another 2 year old laptop with 5 hours of battery life which has the same size and weight of a Macbook pro!

OS X doesn't use NTFS, b/c NTFS stands for NT File System, that may have been your problem, not properly formatted in the first place, you have to install Windows XP and later on NTFS, which is a greatly improved management file system over FAT and FAT32 partitioning.

Of course the sound and stuff works, the hardware is the same, Windows supports other laptops with the same features, just the OS is different, Apple fans, etc. are so deluded in my opinion, thinking just b/c they don't have OS X installed certain features on the computer aren't going to work.

Duncan, I will be getting a MBP 15" 2.66ghz, 4 gig Ram, 320gig HD, 9600GT 512mb very soon. Is it easy to bootcamp Win XP Pro with it, and then run it virtually with VM? I like that fact that if you want to switch to XP fast for something, and then go back to OSX. But I also like the fact, that if you wanted to Boot only into XP to play some windows based games without sharing the CPU with OSX. Am I getting this correctly? so... VM or Parralels?

Vista = not good. not good at all. Some bits are transfered onto windows 7, personally.. the best OS before windows 7, is windows XP.

The best thing about windows 7, depending on what your processor supports, you can run windows XP within it, allowing you to download programs not supported for windows 7.

Never the less, whatever it combines, still the best OS released ever.

I have downloaded the rc and can say that the layout sucks because it is the vista layout which I HATED. I'm probably going to buy windows xp pro sp2. Though its still kinda expensive. Never the less the rc to me was disappointing.

Note that in a year, the official version will be released, so you should be upgrading from beta to the official. It is due to be released in November.

True, I use it all the time, i just deleted my dual boot for vista. Slowed my PC down hell of alot. In a few years, I can guarentee you'll need a new PC and you'll be stuck unless you bought windows 7 :)

Are you kidding? Windows 7 is the best! They got rid of about 8 GB off the installation file, and performance is MUCH better than Vista. I currently have it installed on my laptop (which could barely run Vista), and it works great! The requirements are actually LOWER than Vista's.

you can dual boot yes, just make a seperate partition for Windows 7. You can then have both.

When you've done, you'll need to tell the computer to just boot into Windows XP (Use VistaBootPro) and then remove the extra partition

The offical beta keys that you get off Microsoft run out in August this year. If you want to get it working forever you'd need some sort of activation crack/patch. Which I will not provide.

Remember this is a beta anyway so you don't want to run it as your main operating system forever. It's really just for testing purposes.

great new video i have a question though, i downloaded windows 7 beta and used a valid key etc. it installed fine and ran fine right up untill it BSOD for no reason that i can work out, re installed a couple of times and it did the same thing, just a random BSOD. i know its a beta so i'm not moaning just wanted some feed back from others who have run windows 7 to see if this is a common thing.
