Try setting the drivetrain a higher value. Drivetrain must be Fully Customizable. Lower values means better acceleration but worse top speed, while higher values means worse acceleration but higher top speeds. You should install all upgrades possible to your car (exhaust, engine, suspension, weight reduction and so on...).

adjust your gear ratios some... make the overall ratios wider but not too wide.. you can still make it run mid 8s in a quarter mile and top out at around 240ish mph

You can do a lot better with more tuning you know. A lot of those other speeds in the comments are legitimate. Turn the downforce to 0, lower the car, and bring back the gear ratios just a little bit so you have torque to really reach top speed.

There are cars just as fast as that like the Nissan RC92P and the Sauber Mercedes C9 which need no modification to achieve that speed and has in the region of 950 in comparison to the Escudo in the video which has 1168 HP and also there are cars which can do speeds of over 280MPH like the Audi R8 and the Cadillac Cien if tuned correctly and still be useable. I dont mean to say that isnt fast because it is, but my point is that its not an `unbeatable` figure to beat.

Nice :P How fast did you get? 240mph? well....hehe I got the dodge viper gts to 270+mph on gtr4. All you have to do is get nos and max engine with no tuned TRANSMISSION. Then goto a track with a long stretch......Boom there ya go. And for added speed....Try to get in someone's draft. (preferribly on ::Like the Wind:: in the expert races. Simply because they go pretty much 230-240mph

Not sure if you can do it in GT4, but...have you tried setting up your ratios with the "tranny-trick"? It would give your Escudo a broader torque range and enable a higher top speed :D
