  • UGH IT KEEPS SKIPPING AROUND >.<

  • That Vorta should have been executed for the way he talked to Odo. Once a changeling makes a command to release someone, you don't say "we can't allow that" you just do it. I would have had that Vorta executed at the first moment of defiance!

  • SO... LIKE, IS THE GREAT LINK ONE MASSIVE ORGY?

  • DEFIANT CLASS, WONDERFUL! :-)

  • 1:50 You try to steal a niggas car, you just might have to die 1!

  • @defeatedcreek They were probably completely unaware. Also, most Jem'Hadar have never once seen, let alone encountered, a Founder: how would they be able to recognize their properties?

  • @murryduck they are actaully called phaser cannons. Normal ship phasers are just called phasers.

  • Avery Brooks always sounds to me as if he memorized his lines pho-net-ic-ally. It's the most awkward delivery, week after week, of any actor I've ever seen on TV. And that's saying something.

  • @grnhair2001 He got better by the time of "In the Pale Moonlight".

  • the USS Ben Sisko's Motherfucking pimp hand! (AKA the defiant)

  • 02:13... what the heck?

  • 00:08 whats with Jadzia's hair? O_e

  • after this the federation should have built about 500 of this class

  • Funny a life form that has gone so far yet fears lesser ones so much.

  • You've done a great job on these Dominion War videos.

  • Funny how ineffective the Jemhadar are in close combat and that the Federation only built one Defiant.

  • Phaser blasts are so overkill.

  • mass bubble people orgy

  • ever notice (in this series especially, what with all the hand-to-hand combat throughout), the "finishing" move of 2 hands made into a fist, hitting right between the shoulder blades.... instantly knocks a person out?

  • Guys How cool would it been if Star Trek was a Reality? Watch my viedo on Star trek reality please, and help me spread the word on how!!!!!

  • "Let's take our most powerful warship to tell them that we aren't a threat!"

  • i always thought it was ironic that they must convince the founders that the federation is not a threat by coming to them in a warship

  • Captain Sisko is bad ass!!!

  • When are they going to design a warship with seat belts?

  • I forgot, did the TNG carry this story line any? I know in the books, but did the TV series?

  • I guess the jem hedar didn't recognize odo

  • @chefkoo Noticed that also. Jem Hadar + Vorta( don't know the spelling ) are supposed to be genetically programmed to be subservient to Changelings.

  • borg nanoprobes..... then what the hell would you get?

  • I find vaporization works on pretty much anything.

  • My favorite series. Funny that to convince the dominion the federation means no harm is to take a warship.

  • before first contact with the Dominion they already knew of the Dominion and knew it conquered many worlds in the Gamma Quadrant.

surely conquering entire planets involves a great deal of killing.

and of course they knew they destroyed the Bajoran colony and killed all the civilians there.

  • by this time the Federation already knew that the Dominion wiped out entire planets and destroyed all civilizations that opposed them

  • If I was the Founders, I'd have sent the DS9 lot back on a shuttle & kept the Defiant - that would have sure screwed up the Federation for the rest of the war!

  • Bad idea..... The Defiant eventually gets destroyed and replaced by a newer model of Defiant class ship. The Defiant and her sister ships were built as a new type of ship - a warship - developed specifically to fight the Borg.

  • Still, the Federation would have been screwed without Defiant Mark 1 & I'm surprised the Dominion wouldn't have wanted to steal the technology. After all - why did they capture it rather than destroy it (considering what happened to the Odyssey)?

I wonder how many ships Defiant 1 accounted for in total? Even if you exclude the 3000 in the wormhole, it's still A LOT!

  • Nice to see officers taking on combat troops. Oh wells, its a great episode you have made

  • Yeah, I always say the officers should share the dangers just like the ordinary troops....

  • What kind of weapon is that on Defiant? It doesn't look like torpedoes; maybe disruptors?

  • phaser bursts.

they were specifically designed to be effective against the Borg.

each burst would have a slightly different frequency, and it would be more difficult for the Borg to adapt to it.

the phaser rifles were also reconfigured to fire bursts instead of continious beams

  • So those burst things are actually phasers?! I was always wondering.... .What do the adapted photon torpedoes look like?

  • @TheGreatLink the proper term is pulse phasers

  • @TheGreatLink The more proper term being Pulse Cannons

  • it has guns and bombs and knives and cannons and rifles and sticks and a big slingshot.

  • @transdrole pulse phaser cannons.

  • DS9 was the best trek series, imho - for reasons like this. Moving away from cheesy trek into real-life issues and problems. Love it.

  • @Ephilation Yeah. TNG was pretty much an after school special in space.

  • @Ephilation the only problem is that real-life issues suck

  • @Ephilation was a bit of a rip off from babylon 5 though tbh, although that isnt a bad thing.

  • %uck yeah! The Defiant.

This is when I started to really DS9.

  • This is the point where the Federation infected the Founders with thei bio-weapon... They actually intended for the Defiant and crew including Odo to get captured thus coming into contact with one of the Founders... They could never cure themselvs until the last episode...

  • You fail with your knowledge of Trek.

Odo didn't become infected until the episode where the Federation declared martial law. He spread the disease to the link when he was judged for killing a Founder. He got the disease back when the Female Founder came to DS9 during the occupation.

My guess is that all Vorta were given the disease that would force Odo to return to the link in case they ran into him.

  • I might as well go for part 3 right away then... spoilers :P

  • "What you call it, is no concern to us."

    pwnd

  • wow i cant believe the defiant has that much of a background, no wonder its an overpowered cheeseboat in so many star trek games

  • 04:48

    uuuuuuuu

    Changeline sex!

  • I remember this episode. I think i decided to start following this show right about here.

  • this is where the show started to get good.

  • I could not agree more.

  • Could you imagine if the borg assimilated the changlings?

  • They wouldn't be able to, same with the Jem hadar.

  • even then..

that'd be some f*cked up star trek :D

    i'd watch

  • Borgs whith cloning tecnology...a bit disturbing idea

  • They wouldn't be able to, but if they did, the borg would be perfect

  • @jack9911 Doubtful they could since changlings don't have blood for the injected nanoprobes to assimilate, can you assimilate goo?

  • @jack9911 It might well be impossible. The changelings lack similar cellular structure to "solids", to the point that Bashir once said that Odo's body chemistry "defies analysis".

  • The Dominion: in the running for the most justifiable totalitarianism in speculative fiction history. Justifiable how? It'd be hard to explain, to any people who haven't experienced "pogroms".

  • I like the old pulse fire sound, like firing a gattling gun!

  • Does anyone know what is the name of the episode where Sisko asks Garak to keep Odo company during the trip to Gama quadrant?

  • Broken Link. Season Four finale.

  • Wow the Great Link are on youtube. I remember that site from years ago, one of my favourite sites!

  • this guy had a site back in the day? on the net?

  • When will star fleet invest in a chair without wheels on it and put in a chair that is bolted down and some seatbelts... lol

  • lol, star trek hammer punch goodness

  • that female changling always scared me, she seemed so cold and remorseless, even when she was nice to Odo

  • Out of all of the Star Trek series, Deep Space Nine is the only one I have yet to see.

  • ditto, came out when i was too young to really get it, but then voyager came and watched that.

  • ds9 is by far the best star trek episodes. i hopefully a movie will be made, couse enterprise movies are kinda boring allready.

  • ds9 was the best star trek series and ive watched them all

and it as call the best show on tv the no one watched

  • Really? I thought that this was the show that everyone said was 'over inspired' by babylon 5

I didn't mind DS9 too much but the search wasn't a smart episode, sending the most advanced ship ALONE and having it captured. its no wonder the dominion were so prepared against the feds!

  • if the dominion went straight 2 war they would have won, the Feds had time 2 prepare like upgrading DS9's weapon systems , making shields that were more effective against dominion weapons, and building more ships.

the doinion thought they were prepared 4 the Feds, but it was the Feds that was prepared 4 them.

  • the search was one of my favorite episodes

  • I love Borath! Deliciously bitchy Vorta!

  • if you like Borath then you should watch stephen King's IT

  • I have, actually. I'm a big fan of Dennis Christopher. You should see him as the serial killer, Jack of All Trades. from "Profiler". You don't see him in his entirity until the third season.

  • I watched that today on youtube and o my gosh Jack is so sexy and why can't eddie have spicky hair like that...

Jack is offically my fav Dennis Christopher character...ever...

  • Yes, I love his Jack of All Trades. It's creepy, charming, dangerous, and sexy. I recommend checking out the series 1 to 3 on Netflix as well, so you can get the full effect of his Jack.

  • Paramount & the StarTrek Franchise folks developed this story-line when the Bosnian-Serbia-Kosovo-Croatia war-mess was evolving. And this was on the heels of the Persian Gulf War I where an effective coalition waged a short term battle to push Saddam out of Kuwait. NATO and Europe were unable to build an effective coalition for the Yugoslavian Civil Wars in a timely fashion. Both wars weighed heavily on the DS9-Dominion War story arc.

  • everythihg in this war intergalactic holywar matches what is going on in Iraq how did they do it?

plus it has a begining a middle an a kick ass ending.

    Best SCI-FI ever!

  • You know the craziest thing? This seris took place BEFORE we went to Iraq for the second time

  • Do you have some st:ds9 episodes with Michael Eddington? I am a big fan of Kenneth Marshall, but I can't find any episode with him!

  • Thanks for posting this stuff, but everything is moving too fast... I don't know what is going

  • You gave a lot of your time for this, eh? Good,, thank you!!!!!

  • isn't Odo a founder race being person ?

  • yep but he doesn't like being called a founder

  • yes only less bitchier

  • Borath has an attituted.lol!
