  • can it work inside an remote control car

  • does it rotate? by itself?

  • nice

  • ebay.com

  • nice video, thanks

  • If you have an android phone check and see if you can use the seedonk app. You can hook up any webcam to your computer and use seedonk to watch. Thats what I do when im on vacation!

  • can you attach a normal webcamera into a acer easy store home server and basicaly get the webcamer to record directly onto the hard drive, I would realy aprreacite an answer

  • does it work with blackberry?

  • that linksys camera sucks,

  • Sweeeeeet!

  • If it can only do 10 fps and only in such a small window, then I will continue to shop for a better camera. I was all set to buy this one, thinking it would handle my needs, but this tutorial has taught me it's not the one I need. Thank you.

  • @MrToshTogo

You can setup the rate and resolution you need, that cam on the left can work up to 640x480, but it depends on a speed of your mobile phone internet connection and traffic you want to pay for.

  • DO NOT, buy linksys products...Especially the WVC54GCA. I had trouble for a year with Linksys not being able to setup this POS, and by the time I figured out the camera was simply garbage, the warranty expired. Now LINKSYS is telling me I have to pay for support , instead of letting me simply get a replacement. I tried to get a replacement in the beginning, but their tech support kept insisting I was at fault. ..Get a Belkin or NetGear, Their Customer Care is FAR Superior.

  • @juicysquidlad Just because you had a problem with just ONE piece of equipment doesn't mean they are all rubbish. I have 5 Linksys IP cameras of various models and all have functioned perfectly for several years. I also have 5 Linksys gigabit network switches at my office which also work flawlessly. Please try not to knock an entire organisation just because of one isolated incident. Linksys is owned by Cisco, one of the largest networking companies in the World. Cheers.

  • I hope it has more than 10 FPS.

  • too bad it does not work with macs

  • Thank you so much for the tutorial. Explanation was very clear and very helpfull.

  • thanks for the tutorial. worked great on my BB 8830 with Verizon

  • I have TWO WVC54GCA...

Is it possible... and what are the SETTINGS on the camers/router to be able to access BOTH cameras from my phone?.. so I can pick what one I want to check on when going about my day?-

  • what is the access code?

  • This works on the WVC80N as well! The menu is a little different but the basic operation is the same. My mobile is a Blackberry Curve and it works great! Great tutorial! Thanks for the help!

  • Ok, I just bought this and it is quite complicated to setup. I am pretty savy but no means a DBA or Windows certified...it does work on the iphone with the Streamer Ap and it does work on the web...not easy. Follow the CISCO FAQs as they are really detailed, but this tutorial + Streamer ap, will work! It's pretty amazing.

  • for all of ipod touch users you can download an app calls Icam source and whit the app you can see you web cam from any where you have internet acces same thing whit iphone all you got to do is download the soft ware goggle icam source it so easy and you wont believe how cool this is

  • does this work for ipod touch and iphone?

  • FYI, not sure if there was a firmware update... but the AccessCode must be numeric now.

  • If people want to get this to work with an iPhone, which doesn't support RTSP out-of-the-box (yet), download the free app "Streamer" from the App Store. Add the URL's as described in this video (ie, "rtsp://address-of-camera/access-code") and you're up and running!

FWIW - "Streamer" is an ad-supported application and I have absolutely no affiliation with the software other than a satisfied user.

  • can you show how you set up the other camera?

  • Does anyone know if this can be done with a more generic camera, ie. logitech and RTSP streamed with something like VLC? Also, can it be set up to broadcast over LAN only (not internet)?

  • Very nice job. Tks for sharing

  • thanks i'm gonna buy one

  • Excellent set up walk through tutorial. Looking forward to seeing more from you
