She's Swedish? Wouldnt know that by the way she talks. Cute and tallented, but, something almost sounded out of time. I'll bet she's better than this performance as the show producers choose the song selection, not the artist.

While this is UNIQUE, and not terrible-sounding, it's still not very far removed from overprocessed pop. She's great at the timing of it, and can obviously HOLD instruments, but really isn't that GOOD at anything after the drum part, and even though she's recording the loops live, she's still relying on looped tracks, which will never be as pleasant or organic as an actual live band, which also has the bonuses of collaboration. It's a gimmick disguised as talent. I don't see anything special.

Why do the strings in Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyres" just do the same glissando up and down throughout the piece? Didn't Wagner know how string instruments were meant to be played? Sure he did! The weird string parts were a concious choice.

My response to that is, she didn't become famous based on that. It wasn't until she became her current form of "how shocking can i be?" that she started selling records. I've seen the videos and yeah at one point she was talented. But they focus on anything but that nowadays where for someone like this, part of what makes Theressa so interesting is watching her talent rather than what things she can wear and whether or not she's got a penis.

@brotherminor as much as i hate to defend lady gaga (REALLY hate to), she has, at some point, displayed some musical talent. There's a video sometime on youtube of her before she was all Manson'd out of her playing piano and singing. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's pretty decent. I was surprised. Just throwin that out there.

I know for me, unfortunately, she became famous not because of that but because she,like you said, Manson'd out. And yes, Gaga isn't the second coming - but from a purely artistic view her last album was actually more than half decent. Some of her clothes are shock value, but not all of them.

Check out the videos of her before she became Lady Gaga if you want to see something completely different and far less commercialized. I do agree with you otherwise, though, Theresa is insanely skilled, and she performs with such joy and luster that it's mesmerizing to just watch.
