Great playing! Loads of ideas, great groove, tasty chops! Nice sounds too, what bells are you using? Also, what bell patterns are you playing? They sound a bit different to the standard variations. Keep laying it down! Si.
Nice - like the latin Flavor, are you playing some where? What band are you playing with? Yes Batuka band has been around yes it's a big claim, just ask your dad if he knows Zambrano he has beenaround in the music scene sice 70's and kept band tradition pass it on to us the sons. Yes the band members from Ecuador. It's nice to see the new generation bring the music alive. Would love to have a jam with you,
@zambri1974 yer im playin with a few cats, havent been in sydney for a while though but im with son veneno and armandito gacria perez y su team cubano at the moment, as well as a few other projects, cool, awsome that the ecua blood is going strong! for sure, probably see you at darling harbour then. peace. D

Hey Man nice chops!!!! The band Jovenes del Son sound great too, Do you hace Cd's? Keep up the great work!
I invite you to check out some of our old clips from San Lazaro from Melbourne, Theres more if you search for San Lazaro at fed square too if you like.
Very nice playing! I noticed that you sometimes play accents on the woodblock other then the clave. I think the bells are better for this sort of thing and would only use the woodblock for the clave.
mi paanaa!! este es el video que he estado buscando ultimamente, una verdadera fusion entre la bateria y los timbales y que suenen como un solo instrumento, excelente viejo!
Very good drummer, but... Do you know clave? It is what you usually have to do on your pink block.
Clave used to be the strut of timbales solos. Listen to timba style music players, and remember this little sentence one of my profs told me : "before to create your own style in music, you have to master the style that other persons made BEFORE you, because they have been thought the music they played MORE than you did for the now. It is what we called experience."
hey, ummm yes of course i know the clave, this little clip isnt the entire essence of my playing and knowledge, ive studied countless timba drummers and its becuase of this i choose my own style, do i know clave?? how would that clip be possible without knowing clave? im not arguing with you why would you say "if you dont agree"?
To be honest with you domkirk, I have a feeling that shiftcode1 is being a little too critical and rather bitter from what it seems. I've been playing afro-cuban perc. since I was 13. And if what your playing is not tied into the clave(according to shiftcode1) then I've been learning wrong all along as well. Its good to give a push in the right direction but not at the expense of being wrong such as in the comment shiftcode made. Its called playing around the rumba clave. Plain and simple.
Hi congapraise, I'm not bitter, but just mis-understood what I heard. After re-listening, I hear the rumba clave, yes I do! Every click on the block is on the 3/2 rumba clave, except the eight note you make before the 2 section of the clave. But at the first listening (and the two others I made before commenting your performance), these thing are not so evident, I was confused of what I heard. Every experience count to learn more and more about improvisation.
hey, thanks alot man. umm ive been playin timbales for about 2 years or so, but ive been playing drum kit for about 5 or 6 years so i got a bit of a head start on the timba thing lol. thanks alot for the nice comments.
hey, no i havent been to cuba yet but immm dyyying to go, when i finish high school im going for sure but now theres just not enough time to go and actually make it count. unlucky, but soon ill be there i hope haha. yer i love Ritmo oriental and Diaz is a machine! latley ive been really getting into Andy Fornet Bendacourt from Reve y su charangon, theres some great vids of him up here on youtube chek em out! thanks alot man, D
