when i first heard this song a friend told me that pink floyd and led zeppelin worked together on this version. but this doesn't sound at all like a pink floyd work
question: so i heard there is a version with pink floyd.... this sounds pretty close to it! is this the pink floyd with led zeppelin or just far corporation?
Ich habe mich 85 in diesen Song verliebt Frank Farian als Producer zu loben ja er hatte immer eine gute Hand mit seinen Projecten aber die Musiker die dabei sind alle einsame Spitze
Wow! It has been from 1985 that I have heard this version...In fact a shame they never play it again on the radio. It is a very catchy 80ies version!!!! Thanks for sharing
Cheesy, Blasphmous Ripoff by a bunch bad haired 80s rock wannabeeees......I loved every minute of it...in fact I bout the alum when it came on because the guy at "Second Hand Tunes" knowing I was a huge Zeppelin guy, all but dared me to get it....Even my snobiest Zepp fan friends thought it was entertaining at the very least
I had this on a rock compilation album I had a few years ago and played it non stop! Sadly I've lost the album and cant remember what it was called so if anyone knows could they post and let me know please.
I've have a album "The Hit Man - The best of 25 Years - Frank Farian" released 1994 through MCI/Ariola/BMG. Cat # 74321 19940 2. It features Meat Loaf, Milli Vanilli, Terence Trent d'Arby, Euruption, Boney M & Far Corporation . All of which he either produced or played on ! Far Corporation Tracks are : Rainy Days, Sebastian & stairway To Heaven (5.57) - This track came from "Division One" and was first released in 1985. Hope this may help you !
the vocalist here is Robin McAuley (as seen in the video, the guy with long black hair). he was after that with Michael Schenker and now with Survivor.
i dont know about it being better than the original. thats really tough to say since this band didnt actually create the song plus its an entirely different feel than zeppelin. either way, one of the greatest songs ever made.
one of the few covers that is BETTER than the original.the scope & the sheer audacity of this version is enthralling to a neutral.
It builds & builds to a headbanging climax a'la Wayne's world (Bohemian rhapsody moment)If you haven't heard the full length version then seek it out on limewire or similar cos it is Awesome.
Frank Farian is a production genius, see Meatloaf's Blind before i stop album from 1986 for something very different (Meat hated it, I thought it was great)
Far Corporation is a band created by music producer Frank Farian, who created the bands Boney M. and Milli Vanilli. 3 of this band members are from the band TOTO.. Bobby Kimball, David Paich, and guitarist Steve Lukather...
sick with glee! how 80s-tastic! the perms! the cleanness! the, um, vocals. once they removed bonham and page's solos, the grooves, plant's soulful voice, and replaced it with this, well let's face it, the world's a better place. i think i just felt my soul get a little lighter
I bought this video of this "live" performance of this entire album and was very dissappointed! It's entirely synched to the album's audio! Also because Steve Lukather did much of the soloing and he's not on it, when they get to them they use slow motion or video effects and sometimes don't even show the guitarist at all! They are very good musicians and the singers are the same McAuley & Kimball so it would have been nice to hear and actual live recording of this album!
Wow, I used to remix the hell out of this song in the clubs. It was great to phase, loop and double beat the song. Such great memories. Everyone on the dance floor loved it! I still love it today. Thanks for posting. (I have such a glow right now. lol)
my mum died when this was in the charts. she would have loved this, she was great fun with a wicked sence of humour.luv your mum you only get one.

Truly a product of the 80's! Synthesizers, the percussion sounds, the clothes and hair. But a fantastic version! Damn I miss the 80's!!!!

Toto are the best musiciians ever. Germans are the master race. Farian is our Exalted Leader. His voice is in every song he produces.
Too bad Milli Vanilli couldn't sing lead on this.

Whos is this singing? I think the original lineup had Bobby Kimball up front.

Curt Cress' (Passport) drumming sounds like Phil Collins.

I noticed that too. He's playing the same drum riff that Phil used on "In The Air Tonight".

I hear people tell of a pub in Hull during the late 80's when this song was banned from being played on the jukebox. I went to Hull and back.

Surely Simon Phillips could have thought of a more original riff than "In the Air Tonight's" for the bridge.
