  • my mum died when this was in the charts. she would have loved this, she was great fun with a wicked sence of humour.luv your mum you only get one.

  • good song!!! :)

  • This is without doubt an outstanding cover version that is far superior to the original.

  • TOTALLY AGREE.

  • Prefer this to original - which never really gets going. They were probably too stoned to notice - bless em.

  • best stairway cover!

  • This is great!

  • FAR ! CLASS!

  • when i first heard this song a friend told me that pink floyd and led zeppelin worked together on this version. but this doesn't sound at all like a pink floyd work

  • is the gay version!! is cool! :)

  • really rocky FAR better version love it

  • gr8 cover... nice voice...

  • Bony M's Mickey Farren. Brilliant.

  • Truly a product of the 80's! Synthesizers, the percussion sounds, the clothes and hair. But a fantastic version! Damn I miss the 80's!!!!

  • Indeed, this is so 80's =P

  • question: so i heard there is a version with pink floyd.... this sounds pretty close to it! is this the pink floyd with led zeppelin or just far corporation?

  • Never get tired of listening to this version, absolutely awesome

  • ...prefer the original!

  • best version EVER!!! WICKED VOCALS!! WICKED drumming and funky raucous at end!!

  • Yes, better than the original....but...sure....Led Zeppelin´s drummer wasn´t as good as curt cress...so....

  • Ich habe mich 85 in diesen Song verliebt Frank Farian als Producer zu loben ja er hatte immer eine gute Hand mit seinen Projecten aber die Musiker die dabei sind alle einsame Spitze

  • keep watching this clip, bloody awesome.

Why can't we see a super group like this in Melbourne. Is that BK on vocals?

    Cheers GT

    myspace/countrymusicmc

  • Bobby Kimball, David Paich und Steve Lukather and Drummer Curt Cress were part of the Band...

    Love this song!

  • Always prefered this version but then again I am an eighties child!

  • nice flock of seagulls haircut

  • cool

  • Wow! It has been from 1985 that I have heard this version...In fact a shame they never play it again on the radio. It is a very catchy 80ies version!!!! Thanks for sharing

  • Robin McAuley rules.

    Seriously.

  • This is my fav version of this song. I like it better then the original.

  • its ray von from pheonix nights, saw this when it came out, thought was a good attempt, but they had about thirty musicians on stage...

  • I think the best,,cover,, version ever , great production from the Led Zepplin Classic

  • oh my god... this just incredibly 80'sized Stairway.... HOW???

  • It's funnier if you sing the words to 'Gilligans Island' theme song to this.

  • great post to the 80's.

  • Nice!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great album!

  • Cheesy, Blasphmous Ripoff by a bunch bad haired 80s rock wannabeeees......I loved every minute of it...in fact I bout the alum when it came on because the guy at "Second Hand Tunes" knowing I was a huge Zeppelin guy, all but dared me to get it....Even my snobiest Zepp fan friends thought it was entertaining at the very least

  • since when is toto's singer a wannabe loll

  • 'The Heat Is On' was an awesome album. Really, I wish I still had a good copy of it. As a kid, it was my introduction to this type of rock.

  • to l15abp i think that rock compilation that you mention was called "the heat is on"

  • A fantastic version of a classic song!!

I had this on a rock compilation album I had a few years ago and played it non stop! Sadly I've lost the album and cant remember what it was called so if anyone knows could they post and let me know please.

  • I've have a album "The Hit Man - The best of 25 Years - Frank Farian" released 1994 through MCI/Ariola/BMG. Cat # 74321 19940 2. It features Meat Loaf, Milli Vanilli, Terence Trent d'Arby, Euruption, Boney M & Far Corporation . All of which he either produced or played on ! Far Corporation Tracks are : Rainy Days, Sebastian & stairway To Heaven (5.57) - This track came from "Division One" and was first released in 1985. Hope this may help you !

  • Toto are the best musiciians ever. Germans are the master race. Farian is our Exalted Leader. His voice is in every song he produces.

Too bad Milli Vanilli couldn't sing lead on this.

  • Whos is this singing? I think the original lineup had Bobby Kimball up front.

  • the vocalist here is Robin McAuley (as seen in the video, the guy with long black hair). he was after that with Michael Schenker and now with Survivor.

    cheers.

  • Curt Cress' (Passport) drumming sounds like Phil Collins.

  • I noticed that too. He's playing the same drum riff that Phil used on "In The Air Tonight".

  • i dont know about it being better than the original. thats really tough to say since this band didnt actually create the song plus its an entirely different feel than zeppelin. either way, one of the greatest songs ever made.

  • one of the few covers that is BETTER than the original.the scope & the sheer audacity of this version is enthralling to a neutral.

It builds & builds to a headbanging climax a'la Wayne's world (Bohemian rhapsody moment)If you haven't heard the full length version then seek it out on limewire or similar cos it is Awesome.

Frank Farian is a production genius, see Meatloaf's Blind before i stop album from 1986 for something very different (Meat hated it, I thought it was great)

  • Good "Disco" version of "Stairway to Heaven", but orginal is better...authentic :)

The musicians of FAR(TOTO) are fantastic, much better as the original ;)

  • The musicians of Toto are better than Zeppelin? Ummm ....yeah. Right.

  • @gm030 Far corporation is so much better! They play it in a complitly different and better way! The orginal is not even good! :)

  • excelente,en mi opinion,esta version es superior a la de zepellin,mas fuerte,mas rock.

  • I hear people tell of a pub in Hull during the late 80's when this song was banned from being played on the jukebox. I went to Hull and back.

  • Far Corporation is a band created by music producer Frank Farian, who created the bands Boney M. and Milli Vanilli. 3 of this band members are from the band TOTO.. Bobby Kimball, David Paich, and guitarist Steve Lukather...

  • thats not led zeppline

  • this version makes me feel sick.

sick with glee! how 80s-tastic! the perms! the cleanness! the, um, vocals. once they removed bonham and page's solos, the grooves, plant's soulful voice, and replaced it with this, well let's face it, the world's a better place. i think i just felt my soul get a little lighter

  • Lets ROCK!!

    How's my hair looking?

  • Love it when the Scouser on the keyboards leaves his duties to take centre stage and belt out he high pitched vocals!

  • Surely Simon Phillips could have thought of a more original riff than "In the Air Tonight's" for the bridge.

  • espectacular...aguante pink floyd y zepellin

  • I bought this video of this "live" performance of this entire album and was very dissappointed! It's entirely synched to the album's audio! Also because Steve Lukather did much of the soloing and he's not on it, when they get to them they use slow motion or video effects and sometimes don't even show the guitarist at all! They are very good musicians and the singers are the same McAuley & Kimball so it would have been nice to hear and actual live recording of this album!

  • Ive got the 12 inch to this song, couldnt believe when i got a hit...awesome....saw this band do this song about 1986 on tv....classic stuff.

  • all i can say is memories

  • Wow, I used to remix the hell out of this song in the clubs. It was great to phase, loop and double beat the song. Such great memories. Everyone on the dance floor loved it! I still love it today. Thanks for posting. (I have such a glow right now. lol)

  • this is the best version of this song ^^

  • ( =

  • The Best !

  • I agree - better than the original, I can now put my scratched 45 to rest & listen to this here

  • sad to see a live videoclip with the sound of the studio recording. it would be intresting to hear how they manage to do it live.

  • Can not worry. They well do it LIVE. They are greater professionals.

  • No I am not kidding

  • Best version ever of this, better than the original

  • omg - his hair!!! :) but, really fucking great cover!
