I have been to Melbourne 3 times in the past cpl of years ,and this is a Shame,Australia is a beautiful country with Beautiful birds , wildlife, and great People,my heart goes out to all who are hurt by this tragedy, all my prayers to you Aussies, peace ,and love
go fuck yourself rtcpenguin. you have no heart and should eat shit and DIE mother fucker. and ot you volendamm he feels guilty cause he is lucky to be alive and feels sorry for everyone else who died in the fire. my heart goes out to australians, i once lived there for a couple years and loved it, and loved the people, humble easy going, fun loving people. my thoughts and prayers are with you (Hawaii, u.s.a)
to all my friends who i did not get to meet.. you know australia loves you and will do anything to help you... come and stay at my house... thats how much we love you.....
What gets me is who are these arsonists? Is it nutters? Deranged people who get a kick of starting fires and basking in seeing the damage they've done? Or is there a greed element? People trying to get something out of insurance perhaps? Or a mixture of both these things?
Ultimately any arsonists must be tracked down and brought to justice
A woman survived by jumping into a wombat hole, another family by hiding in their cellar. People in dangerous area's need think about digging underground cellars as do americans in tornado area's. RIP.
What we are watching, with absolute horror, is what lies in store for many people around the world if immediate action is not taken to curb rapid climate change.
To pretend that global warming is not happening, or is not caused by rising levels of greenhouse gases, or is not a serious problem, is almost as morally and intellectually cretinous as casually throwing a lighted cigarette into the bone-dry Australian bush.
Ask not for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee.
Google the Sidney Morning Herald and watch their slideshow for the real scope of this. It is just so dreadful for the people of Australia! You are in our Prayers Oz!
the only thing that will put out these fires is rain and firefighters. stop calling on an unverifiable being outside physical time and space to fix these problems.
Ahhh come on CNN!! What a horrible bad reportage! Too much talk about "how are you feeling", and "it was like"... if you watch the Australia TV news (on youtube), it is nothing even close. They interview people who lost their love ones and you don't get to heard the lucky or nice stories. How about talking about the status of the situation, how many people died, the area affected, the arsonists, and more. And this is true for pretty much every reportage done in US: Lack of substance & real info
i really feel for you! i hope your country pulls through this x x x x (england)

Why does he feel guilty? Because he survived it? Well, I think we should start a commemoration day for this horrible disaster.
