  • was it awesome to be on a 747? I've never seen one in real life just in pictures

  • @smlessnau yes!

  • man this ride was brutal, i took this route on my way to philippines

  • I was 3 rows behind a guy with a camera! Was that you??

  • i dunno...lol

  • @virus86 Detroit is the worst disgrace of an airport ever!!! Its one of the highest for delays and Im from Houston and at Bush Intercontinental, the airport is much newer and we are the main hub for Continental Airlines which is the best in the world and 10x better than delta. Im rarely delayed at IAH and they have wonderful 737's with alot of legroom. All i am trying to say is delta needs better hubs and better service!

  • @VerbalColdWar69 Try again buddy.. DTW was voted #1 in the country. Delta is MUCH better that Continental.

  • Hello!Nice take off to Manila!=)Nice sunny weather!I love it!=)

I come do travel a one beantiful day into my life!=)

I give you 5 star for this film!=)

    Greeting TheCARRE74=)

  • Nice takeoff! I flew to Tokyo from Detroit continuing to Shanghai. Amazing plane!

Check out my videos, I have alot of NW ones!

  • You didn't take the nonstop DTW-PVG?? That would've been awesome!!

  • I remember taking this same plane going to Germany! Nice video!

  • I don't recall NW operating a 747 on its DTW-FRA. The only aircraft operating that route is A330-300.

  • dont forget the 747 200 and the dc10 routes.

  • i've been on this flight!

  • those flaps are huge!

  • That was some long rotation taking off at Detroit...I was almost about a minute before it too off from the ground...

    I love it!

  • Are These one of the New NWA?

  • No. Most of NWA's 747-400s were some of the first 747-400s built...they likely are among the oldest in service. I believe NWA's newest 747 is around 10 years old by now. In any case, to add my comment, the size of those flaps just gets me everytime...each individual flap is likely the size of a wing for small private plane. If retracted nonstop from a fully deployed position, they take about half a minute to fully retract into the wing!!!

  • Good take off.

  • Good wing flex.

  • i heard that the airport in detroit had a lot of runways, is that true

  • Yes, DTW has 6 runways.

  • is it me or is the plane not climbing high enough during the climb out of Detroit? Watching this video makes me want to travel to China again. Too bad the US DOT did not award NWA DTW-PEK but awarded DTW-PVG beginning in March 2009.

  • 2009 huh Dr WHo are ya

  • oh great...watching this flight only makes me homesick...knowing it's final destination is Manila, Philippines...wish i could have been on board this plane...oh and to whoever thinks Detroit is big, it's pretty small compared to O'hare Here in Chicago

  • Remember taking one of these (with the loud powerplants just like this) out of Detroit to Amsterdam-Schipol. Why on earth did NW have to downgrade that product to an A330? :(

  • Is that your patriotism I hear talking??

  • I remember taking a 747 from DTW to AMS-Schipol with nice, loud engines like this a/c. Why on Earth did NW have to downgrade that product to an A330.. :(

  • airline greed. The 747 and the DC-10 is a far better aircraft for the transoceanic travel. It is a matter of time till one of their fuel sippers run out of fuel like air transat did. They always have to stop for fuel on the rome to detroit flights with the a-330 and with the dc-10 you did not have to.

NWA's exec's loved the dom perigion and the caviar the french gave them and the stay in the ritz in paris all free of charge.

  • You idiot. The Air Transat flight ran out of fuel because one of the engines failed, and the pilots crossfed the fuel to that bad engine if I recall...either that or a fuel line ruptured, I don't recall which, but that is the reason it ran out of fuel...it is more than capable of a Rome to Detroit flight without stopping for fuel. It's range is about 5000 nautical miles. The DC-10 can't carry as big a payload, is technologically obsolete compared to the A330,is noisier and less fuel-efficient.

  • I have flown the Detroit Rome Detroit flight several times nonstop, no refueling no stopovers, takeoff from Detroit and arrive in Rome and visa versa. So i don't see how you had to refuel in an A330-300

  • Detroit is realy big airport lol :) 2 weeks till i'll be there whiejjj so exided havent seen my family in 3 years realy miss them :)
