When I finally got to play the game (the second Yaoi game I've ever played) I WAS quite depressed. But even though the endings are really sad - the story is still really beautiful. Definitely a game that left me impressed. A lot of Nitro+Chiral fans like Lamento and Togainu no chi better - but Sweet Pool is actually MY favorite (...I'm a sadist)
Don't be fooled by the amount of handsome highschoolers, this game's got some serious plot-line shit and endings that can make you feeling depressed for weeks.
the game is about a high-school student, Youji, entering a new year in school. weird things start to happen around him, unsuspected people starts to nose into his life, and he himself starts to feel different, almost 'inhuman'.
It's hard to say the game is actually a boy's LOVE game, because most of the time the game focuses a lot on serious matters + blood and gore.
This game is currently being fan-translated at the TLWiki. It's at about 23% completion. If you want to keep up with its progress, you can check out the Sweet Pool Translation thread at Aarinfantasy's forums (though you'll have to register). One more year of Japanese and I should be able to play this game okay T_T. One more yeeaaarr.
