  • They had the balls to play Barnes and Barnes (Billy Mumy of "Lost In Space" fame was one half) and their Big Hit "Fish Heads"!

  • That looks like hard work; lots of plates to keep in the air.

  • This was 28 years ago.

  • Wow, I was 13 then. Now a grandfather at 41. Lol.

  • Holy crap, talk about a blast from the past, I remember this. ha

    I was 11 years old.

  • That brought back some memories. In middle school, this station was all anyone listened to. It went on the air around when I started 7th grade and it rocked our world. Esp. when they started giving away $100 every hour. Hey, that was a lot of money to a kid!

  • Great! We need some thing like Scott &Co in UK. . .. . .UK commercial radio is corporatized, as is US radio now. Ya think you're listening to local jock, and it's some guy a 100 miles (or more) away & is on a network of 7 - 10 stations. And the commercials???? Jeeeezzzz.....they go on forever! Not like when I was with KQV. . .spot announcement, max 2 30" spots or the kids would tune away. Thank you for posting this informative video!

  • wuruuuuoyuui

  • This is great. Use to listen to this station all the time.

  • OMG I remember that jingle!

  • Damn, I miss the eighties.

  • I grew up on Scott on the, um, Q Morning Zoo. It's amazing how portable that format is, isn't it? :-)

  • z100 ftw!!

  • ah vintage zoo lovaly

  • Wow.. John Bell IS black...

  • If you saw that news guy on the street you'd never think he sounded like he does themojoman(.)com

  • I think Z100 will be going off the air due to NowFM beating them

  • I lived in upstate New York from 1985- mid April 1992. In April 1992 I moved to Rapid City, South Dakota the closest radio station to Z100 was HIT100 KGGG-FM and they had a similar morning program called the Breakfast Flakes with Tom Collins and Brian McDaniels. HIT100 unlike Z100 has went through personality and a format changes since January 1994 (They're now Classic Rock The Fox 100.3 with new call letters). Morning Zoo and Breakfast Flakes are ironically same sounding.

  • Notice Z100 is manual, now they are automated.

  • air checks are cool, wish i had some PEE WEE HARRIS from albany ny

  • Joey Reynolds was the #1 jock in Buffalo at the late, great KB Radio 1520. His changeover with after drive DJ Dan Neaverth was mandatory listening every night at 7pm. I miss those days...

  • R.I.P. JR Nelson... :(

  • Haha John Bell's hair was already gray in 1983, and still going strong today.

  • 3:25

"we just kinda do it our way here..."

yeah okay...im glad stern mopped the floor with these idiot morning zoo crews

  • This was Thanksgiving 1983

  • I used to love Scott Shannon on Z100. Anybody remember the parody song "My Wife Left Town with a Banana"?

  • I got to go find mr leonard clips now!

  • I cant believe anyone has this!!!

  • What I'd like to know is, who thought to record this on camera, and why? I'm glad someone did though; brings back memories.

  • To answer Joey Reynolds' question at 2:30... the TOH IDs at 0:04 and 1:03 were voiced by the late Len "Boom" Goldberg. He worked at Z100's then (and current) sister station, WMMS in Cleveland. Boom was at WMMS for well over 33 years, and Scott was right on the money... he was "the Voice of God."

  • That is when top 40 was more rock than the hip-hop crap it is now

  • I have been searching for a song they ran in the late 80s...Barney Fife raps or something like that....Andy Andy dinner's on the table come home!

  • Hey cool! John Bell and Joey Reynolds!

  • omg JOHN BELL?!!!

  • OH YEAH they used to always say "PHRASE THAT PAYS" on z100. i forgot about that, I heard it a lot when Rich Davis used to say that, (in the late 90's and early 2000)

  • Scott Shannon also does The True Oldies Channel at various stations.

  • rofl this is jokes

  • love scott shannon.. I love him to death and though he is now with WPLJ. He inspired me to go to broadcasting school.. Wish he would have hired me, lol!!!

  • "Fish Heads" By Barnes and Barnes was the Mystery Oldie? BTW, One half of Barnes and Barnes was Bill Mumy of "Lost In Space" fame!

  • HAPPY 25TH ANNIVESARY Z 100!
