I'm an old school FNM fan and are rapidly becoming an Atreyu fan. I think what most people on this page are too scared too say is that this version and the original both sound A) very similar give or take a few screams here and there, and B) both kick f&cken ass. This track was the birth of an era back in the day in terms of radio play and it is still to this day a massive tune. Good cover, perhaps my only comment is that they didn't make it their own, they covered it note for note...

in Congregation of the Damned his screams are alot better. They have improved so much over the years. Idk if your a big Atreyu fan or whatever the fuck you are.
But they kick ass live and his screms are freakin sick.
The drummer is far beyong decent. He helps with lyrics, he has made guitar solos etc he does vocals and drums in every song pretty much
Dont even go around saying Atreyu is decent in any way

Sorry but Alex has to go, this, I believe. is one of their more recent albums, so I dunno where you're getting at with saying they improved so much over the years. Like I said, Atreyu is a band of decent musicians, they just have a vocalist that sucks.

That doesnt sound to recent! This song has bad lyrics, theres other songs on the same album like When Two Are one or something which is another great song. or The Squeeze. He doesnt have bad vocals. You can say he sucks when he has many other songs where his vocals are 10x better

@72KLEW Last time I checked, real music was about the melody and lyrics of the song. If you had a kid who didn't sing well would you tell them they suck? Why don't you even ask yourself if you could do any better. Vocals isn't everything. Love all of the talent the band has. But apparently you'd rather stay in a closed box than keep an open mind and would rather banter about the vocals of a COVER of a good song. Listen to Faith No More and stop bashing the art of all music.

A lot of people like the raw emotion that goes into screaming, whether the testosterone-inducing metal sound or the catchy techno rhythm of screamo... you don't like it, don't listen to it, it's that simple. Most people who diss metal of any kind either never actually listened to it, or are so stuck in their mindset they refuse to acknowledge anything other than what they already like.

Dave Grohl has an epic scream. Honestly a well timed scream/yell/shout can make a song awesome. Just not screaming through the whole song. And everyone can scream but not everyone has a nice sounding scream. That being said I don't mind this cover. Prefer the original though.

It's a good cover. But, personally, I don't think anything can beat the original. Mike Patton's vocals are just too unique to mess with. But, Alex did a great job with this, nonetheless.

...apart from the vocals, (which sound like someone clearly not right in their head or at gunpoint trying to imitate Patton,), this is almost musically identical, (to the point of sounding like someone singing over an instrumental of Epic) to the original. if i wanted to listen to someone who sounded like Mike Patton singing 'Epic' , then I'd listen to FNM.
