Celtics make the mistake of acting like they won the series at the end of this game. It was a great comeback, but acting this way only got the Nets motivated to kick ass the rest of the series.
Antoine Walker is especially embarrasing at the end of this game. He was abused by Kenyon Martin in this series and again the next year when the Nets wiped up the floor with the Celtics.

That was the thing, the Celtics were unprepared to deal with the fast-break style of the Nets.
Look how they handled the conventional teams such as the Pistons and Sixers in the earlier rounds...they could have stacked up against LA.
Boston had the better bench in Rogers and Delk, plus Kobe/Pierce cancelled each other out. The only advantage LA had was Shaq at center, Tony Battie wouldn't have kept up with him.

My favorite game of all-time. I remember watching it and not believing what I was seeing. Definitely a great year to be a Celts fan that season. I also can't believe the Nets made it to the finals and just got swept. Had the Celts won they would have at least taken one or two home games.

You crazy, this back in da day when Paul had his legs and he played shooting guard. He woulda gave Kobe hell, Tony Delk woulda bussed Derek Fisher ass, and Antoine Walker woulda trashed Cook. Lakers wouldn't have beaten us point blank.

That was the thing, the Celtics were unprepared to deal with the fast-break style of the Nets.
Look how they handled the conventional teams such as the Pistons and Sixers in the earlier rounds...they could have stacked up against LA.
Boston had the better bench in Rogers and Delk, plus Kobe/Pierce cancelled each other out. The only advantage LA had was Shaq at center, Tony Battie wouldn't have kept up with him.
Either way, this will always be one of my favorite games because of the intensity

This series was so much more exciting than this years finals for me. Maybe because I was 14 at the time, Boston was finally revived after a decade in the cellar, I'll never forget watching this game with my dad and grandfather and exploding at the end. The Robert Horry 3 against Sacramento was the same weekend at my grandparents, what a great weekend for basketball, one of the best ever

My favorite game of all-time. I remember watching it and not believing what I was seeing. Definitely a great year to be a Celts fan that season. I also can't believe the Nets made it to the finals and just got swept. Had the Celts won they would have at least taken one or two home games.
