Given that I'm not a christian, haven't been for a long time, but I still sometimes listen to Petra for nostalgic reasons and because I just like their music - wouldn't you say that here is their chance to get me back? If so, isn't that a good thing (from your perspective)?

And also FYI, this bands song "Prayer" was played the night I got saved over and over again, the music spoke to me in ways no other song or style of music did before, and "Just Reach Out" did.......if it breaths salvation and speaks to someone, even one person, than in Jesus name, its all worth it.

the music speaks to different people, and honestly I would listen to this any day than some of the music they sing in church.

Look in churches, how many kids are there singing and feel part of the body, then come youth group night, look in on the kids and see the difference, my point is, this music speaks to our generation, if it gets kids to seek Jesus, than its all worth it, dont knock it, esp if it speaks salvation to someones heart and changes his life. In Jesus name.

you have to realise who created music in the first place. Just as an object in of itself is not evil ( only when its used in an evil way ) SO IT IS WITH MUSIC....When music is used whether its hard or soft, if its geniune worship then thats what counts. Rock music did not originate from satanic music. ALL music originated from the Creator.

When Christ gave Peter the keys to Heaven my friend, he established Peter as a pillar of the word. Thats why in Acts 2:38 Peter established the form (and only form) of repentance and washing away sins in the name of the Lord Jesus... not father, son, holy ghost. they made God's worship music so similar to a Rock Concert. That really shows a seperation of the World. Tank tops, crazy hair. They don't even know that the Apostles would've been so against they're form of bringing God into the likeness of the world.

I don't understand what you're getting at because the Bible says nothing against using rock music as a medium to draw God's people into worship. Psalm 150 doesn't even specify what genre(s) of music qualify as being worship music. If it's getting people into an attitude of worship, it shouldn't matter what kind of music it is. Don't bash Petra because they don't fit your own personal standard of what worship is.

I agree...do not be conformed to the ways of the world. I heard from a highly reliable source (a reformed metal fan) they used to open for Ozzy Osbourne. I'm not saying it's not possible to get saved at one of their concerts, but this is not true Christianity...sorry...you'll never change my mind...stop trying to be like the world...draw the world closer to Christ...do not pull Christianity down to the level of something associated with rebellion and darkness.

The Lord has TRULY blessed me through alot of Petra's songs, and I'm sure that alot of lives have been saved at Petras concerts! Praise the Lord for that!
