  • you put some kind of auto shutoff feature to it because the propeller really dangerous if the kid fall off !

  • Direct from Thailand!

  • bit danegous but i like the idea!

  • Hey, Nice Blender!!! What's that lovely thing your blending, Oh...... that's a lake :D.

  • I use to mess around with these little strimmer engines as a kid, I dreamed of making a little outboard like this, but never had the prop. Nice to see it in use

  • lol!! i like this vid because it shows dad so doesn't mind if junior screws around with a weedwacker in a lake! i just got in shit half the time for less ahahhahahahaha

  • i like

  • A smaller prop is needed if more power is not achievable

  • @stuart18100 Agreed Stuart. Having trouble locating something suitable but I'm looking at cropping the existing prop(s). Have a look at "Weedeater Boat Project Phase2". It gets along a bit better with two motors, but the inflatable is too blunt. I've built a planing hull which should appear as "...Phase3" before too long. Still looking for some props...

  • @LyonsdenNZ cropping should be a last resort, sometimes it can have an undesired affect. Usually bad balance on the prop leading to violent vibrations. If you crop maybe consider not reducing the diameter, instead reduce the width of each blade, that can result in better balance but still less resistance for the motor so it can rev higher

  • @stuart18100 Thanks for that. I'll try doing it that way if I can't find a couple of more suitable props. Cheers.

  • damn rednecks!

  • lol so fail no prop protector.

  • Looks pretty dangerous to me. Lucky the adult did not get his legs injured when he launched the kid.

  • i just wanted to yell " a shark , a shark" and see how he will react..

  • Pretty Cool Great to Watch!

  • @PBKiteboarding . Fun to do as well! "Weedeater Boat Project Phase2" was even more fun, and funnier to watch. Sort of doing donuts on the water. The 3rd phase is not far away!

  • it all goes good till it runs out of gas lol

  • Technically he needs a license for that

  • where is the weed?

  • It's Ok, we told Hector and he's keeping his dolphins out of the way.......

  • @LyonsdenNZ Amen to this, my father was always building things for me to test, and some were quite suspect, but constantly fun. What a good family you have. Oh, I'm 52 now.......

  • @whiteboyfunk1 Hmmm... I won't be seeing 52 again, but that doesn't stop me from trying to get, and give, a little fun out of life. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to do this sort of thing with my own sons, but now that that commodity is a little easier to find, doing stuff for enjoyment is a big priority. We've all had a lot of kicks out of this project, Weedeater Boat Project Phase2, and we're looking forward to Phase3 in the near future. Hope you enjoy with us. Cheers.

  • @LyonsdenNZ Thank you for the reply, Dad turned 82 on Nov. 22, I showed him the video and detected a spark of joy and memories, too bad there aren't more of good ol' fashioned fun-lovers out there....

  • This is the last thing the highly endangered Hectors Dolphin needs!

  • I made this before when I was in middle school I use a workout tool works grate made is so you can rase and lower the prop deeper.

  • No, I use someone else's kid. They're expendable.

  • So u use your kid to test ur boat he ain't test dummy

  • Yeah, but don't you worry, we will get it on video and post it on YouTube so that you can say "told you so"...

  • This is the only application were I would say to use a weed eater with a curved shaft over a straight shaft, but when cutting grass, straight shaft weed eaters all the way!

  • jr. mud buddy

  • I guess you could now call it a "Seaweed Eater."

  • that irresponsible

  • Was waiting to see the kid buzz your nuts off on the way out!

  • @katie16522 I was thinking he was going to have his kneecap chopped up. And if the motor had died I wonder if he had a boat to rescue the kid cause the high winds would have blown that raft who knows where.

  • We did that when we were 10 but we made the boat aswell out of polesyerene sheets. Probbably cheaper to buy a small outboard in the firstplace lol

  • good idea let the 5 year old test it

  • @DJdubbbs he is not a pussy like you

  • the kid is still in his bedclothes

  • nah man you don't nitrous, the problem i that kid is a fat ass!

  • See response to @poptartpencil. I've put together a second motor using a plastic 4hp Evinrude prop, one of the few left hand rotation props around. Old model, not produced now. It was easy to use a heated bolt head to melt a drive recess into the boss for fitting to the weedeater shaft. Watch this space for the upgraded twin engine boat, coming in the near future!

  • what type of propeller did u put on that?

  • looks a cheap and funny idea nice!!!

  • what kind of propeller did you you use? how did you install it?

  • @poptartpencil . The prop is an 8 x 5 1/2 left hand rotation unit and I think it was from an old Johnson 5 or 6hp outboard. Left hand props are a bit rare and it was a bit hard to find. Outboard workshops would be a good place to look. I cut down the line trimmer plastic drive boss and installed three screws as drive lugs. A bolt into the original trimmer head shaft with a piece of tube as a spacer bush holds it in place. Quite simple, but can manage the low power of the weedeater OK. Good luck.

  • Speedboat for little kids lol

  • Loving your work Don. Some things never change huh.

  • amazing driver! love you Jake
