    Thank you for posting splavpeaks

  • @steinway1923 many thanks !

  • Hi

Stumbled on this while researching on the RD 700NX which I am considering!

But now what I want is the sheet music to this impromptu! Do you know where I can get it? Not an easy one to find it seems.

Also, despite the note stealing you highlighted, would you still recommend the 700NX?

  • @johnstephenbyrne I can not find any internet version of this composition, but can ask friends in Lithuania to photocopy the music for you ;)

I would still recommend NX hoping Roland will solve this CPU problem

  • @splavpeaks I will be ordering the RD 700NX soon and would also like to get a hold of this piece of music which you have played so beautifully. Many thanks in advance if you have been able to retrieve the copy from your friends in Lithuania and could forward me a copy of this piece of music. I have researched for some time and found that it is out of print. Looking forward to learning this piece on the new piano.

  • ripley4900 - compliments for execution. can you tell me the title and name of the composer? Thanks

  • hi there,, i just bought a roland rd 700nx too,,im from Jakarta,Indonesia....btw,,what is the name of the song you've played on this video..it sounds great..thanks....

  • Yip, agree.

I'm seriously thinking of changing for a new GX with the SuperNatural SRX board.

  • ....missing sounds

Steel Guitar (with twang glissando when note struch hard

Steel Away (with harmonics when note struck hard)

    String Quartet.

Also £500.00 more than GX but no Sonar software preloaded and no Audio Key facility.

Cant argue with the piano realism or action, but is it value for money ???

Is it possible to increase the guitar body noise / string sound whilst using folk and nylon guitars ?

    Cheers.

  • Hi,

Here's a question to anyone who has an NX.

Press one of the preset sound groups (eg guitar) and scroll through variations.

Use guitar as a layer and there are very many more guitar variations.

Therefore, why is it not possible to have access to the same variations available when used in layered format, as a single instrument ?

Also - owned a 700SX before and the NX seems to missing some of the finest sounds of the SX (unless I cant find them). ....see next post.....

  • @maxpaddy100 hi, I find it a bit weird when scrolling the instruments in LAYER MODE, WHY? Did not have that in RD-700, all instruments were in place. Even in layer mode there is not much guitar sounds. The piano is fine but if I new what problems piano have would NOT buy it.

  • you play very good. First I thought it was Chopin - but then I've read Balys Dvarionas - what a shame - I didn't know him!

  • @petme6 no shame mate, this lithuanian composer is not well known as Chopin.

  • Hi what amp are u using with your nx

    I’m looking at the Kc-550

  • @joewood212 use any amp you and your ears think sounds the best for your self :)

  • Dear Slavpeaks, that's one awesome instrument isn't it! I've got a Roland RD700sx for about 6 years now. The GX wasn't a big step forward so i decided not to invest money in that one. But die NX has my attention. Got a few questions.

The NX has a recording mode. How many layers can you record on top af eachother and can you save your recorded material?

And the NX plays MP3 audiofiles. When these files are played, can you play along at the same time. And even record that perhaps?

    Thanx!

  • @Fabian88keys The RD700GX was a pretty nice step forward to the RD700SX, especially in action. The PHAII Ivory Feel is nice, plus the addition of the K-RD700GX1 SN card makes the RD700GXF sound just like the RD700NX. I own an RD700GXF, and bought the RD700NX from Sweetwater. After spending a day with both of them in my room, I realized that the RD700NX wasn't worth the extra money vs. the RD700GXF. HOWEVER!!!! If you don't own the RD700GXF already, BUY THE RD700NX. It's an extraordinary board!

  • @zaf511 Thanx for your comment and advice. A RD700GXF and a NX in your room, that would keep me inside the house for a couple of days! About te Ivory Feel; a great step forward in looks and feel (espacially when playing with sweaty fingers). But I understood it's just a coating on the keys wich (intensive use for 2 years) comes of after a while so you'll get an ugly 'multicoloured' shiny white/ivory keyboard. Is that correct?

  • @Fabian88keys no idea ;) will see in 2 years

  • @zaf511 I agree. I had older version, RD-700 and would not say that NX is much much much better. For the beginners still recommend not to spend much money on NX and buy RD-700 first, great keyboards

  • @Fabian88keys hi, sorry for late response, did not have a chance to look here before.

I don't know everything about NX yet but will try to answer what I know

Don't know how many layers you can record on top of each but think that only one

NX plays mp3s and you CAN play along with them. That is the way I practice the songs now

But not sure that you can record at the same time with the original song. 90% that not

    Hope it helped :)

  • @splavpeaks Hi there, thanx for your response. I know for sure now; the NX will be my next stagepiano. For layered recordin I'll use a harddisc recorder. And that is okay because that is just not what the NX was made for in the first place.

MP3 play along is indeed an easy way to practice songs and ideal for playing with backing tracks.

Enjoy your instrument! And if you like take a look at my music video's. More (piano solo's) to come!

  • @Fabian88keys for layered recording you can use any music program like logic, pro tools and many others. For couple of pounds you can buy 2mono jacks to 1 stereo mini jack cable and plug this easily to your laptops audio in, then add to the program any layers you like and play along with them by plugging headphones in to the audio out. then you could even mix that recording a bit ;)

  • hi,i just bought mine,do you know how to split the 4layers and decide which part of the keys you just want it in?like if you just want the bell on the end of the keys and have the whole piano?how many splits can you do?can you split the whole 4 layers?.and do you know how to use the layer foot switch and make it function?cause i bought a new foot switch.thanks.

  • @newhorizon2000 hi, sorry for late response. Go to LAYER EDIT, press right arrow and go up to TRA LWR UPR on top. Then you can press SPLIT button and you can see that all LWR UPR will be changed to certain notes. By using arrows you can adjust layers lower and upper note by pressing it. Hope that will be helpful. If not - I will record a little video for you

  • @splavpeaks thanks so much,i would appreciate the video, just so i know if im makin' it right.thanks again.

  • @splavpeaks and can you teach make the footswitch funtion for the layering "FC1 and FC2" too?thank you.

  • @newhorizon2000 don't think there is layering function in FCs. But you could use your finger very quick ;))

  • Which waltz by Dvarionas is this ? I have been looking for it everywhere.

  • @stoppie999 Waltz Impromtu

  • sampling is not possible with this one right? i love the piano sounds of roland keyboards... but i also need one with which you can use samples and that also has great bass and orchestral sounds. any idea for an alternative without having constrained piano sound?

  • @JimmieDivine you are right, sampling is not possible on this, but I could recommend you Roland V-Synth XT. Had it before. The synth has huge amount of opportunities, and you could use any keyboards with it connected with USB cable.

  • Bravissimo!!!

  • What is the name of this song?

  • @MrVichtel Balys Dvarionas - Waltz Impromtu

  • wow that supernatural piano really brings out realism. which piano you using? it looks like you're using concert button but the concert piano patch sounds different to the way i heard it on the interactive tour flash demo. is that because it has 10 variations each piano button?

nice playing by the way :)

  • @Paulsterdude hi, it was the first one. The only thing is changed is reverb (it was about 70% of Hall reverb) which gave the sound more low-mids

  • Fantastic playing, sounds superb. I apologise for my slightly belligerant comments earlier today.

    Humble apologies !!!

Are you happy with the NX ?

Have mine on order, hoping it will arrive this week.

    Cheers.

  • @maxpaddy100 no worries mate, my pleasure.

It depends what keyboards you had before. I had RD-700 so feel very confident using NX. Roland made many improvements I wished. So I am really satisfied!
