  • Very moving. No other countries in the world share such a relationship like this (outside the Anglosphere i mean)

  • That was played so well! 9/11 - a terrible time for our cousins from across the pond!

  • Hail Britannia, shoulder to shoulder we stand.

  • @HazeGreyAndUnderway AMEN!!!!

  • Makes me proud to be British. And from a 14 year old, proud to be friends with America. I love being British, but I equally love America. Lets always be friends..? (:

  • Nevernextdoor don't bring your shit here, show some respect to the lives lost on 9/11.

  • God Bless the United Kingdom and the United States of America. May Britannia and her allies rule the waves ALWAYS! From singapore

  • Looks like 20 watchers are not American or British :D. God bless America and it's people, from a Scot.

  • @Oxgangs1966 May i say God bless Scotland. We do not forget our wild cousins. Much love to the Scots from a sentimental old Yank!!!

  • i have undying love for your language, your culture and most of all for your people...wait a minute. Maybe it's because we are a part of you. I can't express the emotions i have for the english. Rule Britania! God bless America. God save the Queen!

We have sometimes acted as an unruly child but we always have known "Mom" would always be there for us!

  • God save the Queen! God bless America! Brothers to the end! Thank you so much GREAT BRITAIN! I'm a science instructor in Muskogee Oklahoma and I showed this to all of my classes today. Choked up every time. Again thank you. I love you guys!!!

  • @cheesegwis Your feeling this side of the channel are very much reciprocated

  • @cheesegwis you are very welcome

  • I'm a normal working class Englishman, If America called for help I would answer. From the Americans I know the same is reversed. put every other argument aside and this is what counts.

  • @mopchump, you're such a brown noser.

  • This is indeed a moving video, but all I can think is where do you get tiny, American flags in England?

  • @DarthBob01

Whenever I visit the states I always take a few small Union Jacks to present as gifts to the folk we meet. I guess the same thing happens in reverse and it was these flags folk were waving.

  • @Mikehooperz I'd proudly present an American Flag to you sir, thank you for posting this. As an English American I was deeply moved.

  • @blackandproud75

Thanks for saying that, it was really appreciated. We're the same people and we do feel (I do anyway) the pain you suffered on that day. We've seen too much religious murder in England and I'm so sorry you had to suffer it as well. Islam, Catholicism...whatever. Did they forget to read that bit about peace and treating others as would want to be treated?

    Apparently not.

  • very very classy! thank you UK!

  • Now thats classy.

  • This is still the most moving video to come out of 9/11. Thank you, Queen Elizabeth II, and thank you United Kingdom for standing with us all of these many years.

  • The United States is the Valiant defender of Peace and Freedom throughout the world, as seen in WW1 andWW2, We Brits owe so much to you Americans, and after all we have the same language and the same values, UK and US forever Allies and forever Friends. God Save the Queen and God Bless America.

  • Thank you for this U.K. Sometimes we forget who are true friends are.

  • Allies always.

  • I will never, ever forget this. I was standing in the doorway to my parents' bedroom watching. I watched it and just cried and cried. God bless the United Kingdom for their friendship to us these many years, and for standing with us when we needed them most. What an amazing story we have; how the worst of enemies can become the best of friends.

  • This gives me goosebumps every single time I watch it. What an amazing gesture by the British people, one that shouldn't be forgotten.

  • What a pathetic posting These idiots as you so moronicly put it are American tourists who having just heard that their homeland had been bombed and not knowing who had died were not going to be shouting and cheering.

You need to get the asylum to up your medication..And how do you type with a straight jacket on..WANKER.

  • why are all these idiots crying,go home and screw it...

  • You know after the July 7th bombings in London the United States Army Band played God Save the Queen. Allies forever US + UK

  • @ShortBusStud remind me to buy you a pint

  • Mama bear sent me here, and I am indeed crying.

  • Thank goodness. Finally a Video that show the true reprensentation of the relationship between us Yanks and you Brits.Instead of all that bickering of which military is stronger.I mean ,does it REALLY matter which special forces are better? They both are the best in the WORLD.and I am glad that we have the closest relationship two countries can share and have a bond akin to brothers

  • I've always hoped to find a video where us Brits and Americans would get along like this, and I finally have. I think it was a lovely gesture for us Brits to do. God save the Queen, and God bless America!

  • @SharpsConnor Well as a proud American. This makes kinda stuff makes my even prouder to know the the United Kingdom is our closest ally :o)

  • Watching this 10 years later, I am beginning to tear up. As an American, I would just like to thank the British for this amazing, awe-inspiring moment of friendship. God Bless America, and God Save the Queen.

  • I just found this, and I thought it was awfully sweet. I wish us Americans and the British could always get along like this. It was a very heartwarming gift(:

  • I teared up a little. I'm american but this is the first time I've ever heard about this :) thank you Brits

  • That was sweet! This video shows the love of one's own country and how other countries can help. I'm from the Philippines, but God Save the Queen and God Bless America!!! (and the rest of the world :D)

  • This was so touching and sweet. This simple gesture spoke volumes about the alliance between the two countries. Thank you Brits!

  • I wish the comments between the British and Americans were more like the ones on this video on other videos

  • I hope one day us Americans will play your national anthem! God Bless our Countries!

  • @mauricerocks That would be amasing. But forgive me if i'm wrong would it not classify as an act of treasen with it being the British royal anthem. Something to do with documents signed along time ago. Anyways an excellent tribute to our friends over the pond.

  • Aw this is so sweet :') thanks brits!<3

  • Sometimes people are just awesome.

  • @StackCityEntOfficial That says it all my friend <3 God Save The Queen and God Bless America

  • Wow. For hundreds and hundreds of years, Britain and the US have stood side by side and help each other in times of need. Why the need for racism and hatred? We're all human aren't we? Why leave anyone else either? Blacks, Jews, Gypsies, Gays, we're all born equal and should be treated this way.

  • @jamie007pwnz Well, not quite 'hundreds and hundreds of years'. Britain and the USA fought when america wanted independence.

  • @bordovik Ya but that was like 300 years ago I think :p

I just meant that WWI, WWII and some others were in the past couple hundreds of years.

  • this is absolutely beautiful, shows real human decency <3

  • Dear America. Thank you for the support, thank you for the understanding, thank you for the acceptance and thank you for the teachings. Thank you for the banter, thank you for the laughs. But most of all, thank you for the respect, I can only hope we have returned the favour. Yours sincerely, The United Kingdom.

  • This is beautiful makes you want to cry.

  • This is beautiful. ♥

  • This is a beautiful thing that the British did for America. The Queen is a beautiful person.

    (omgfacts)

  • Less we forget.

  • This was one of the greatest moments of our history.

To play another nations national anthem out of compassion and friendship rather than capitulation is an honour.

  • MrDeano324 - I echo your comments

  • wow, i'm English, and this actually moved me to tears, the minute they played the first note. xx

  • You know, for all the talk about the Royal Family being outdated or that Modern Britain has no use for a Royal Family, the British Monarchy stands the test of time because not only are they symbols for tradition and history, but one of unity and hope as well. Don't forget, the King and Queen stayed in London and part of Buckingham palace was bombed during WWII's Blitz. And they've done so much for charity and those who need help. Rule Britannia, I always say.

  • i'm 22 from the us and i have always made ridiculous jokes about brits just as i am sure brits have made countless jokes about us yanks. but for some reason this video moved me to tears and i watched it over and over and over and over and i ended up with this deep respect and absolute love for one of our dearest allies. i don't know why it took this one video for me to realize how much you guys mean to us and how much we mean to you. united we stand! thank you and i love you guys!

  • @MrTifful the reason we make jokes about each other is because we are friends, not allies.

  • Why are they all crying?

  • @clydewell Don't know, possibly because THOUSANDS of innocent Americans were killed?

  • Kind of ironic how the song was about a battle between the US and Britain

  • @Spikehog37 I know, right?

  • @Spikehog37 even more ironic that the music was written by someone born in Britain, John Stafford Smith from Gloucester, England, United Kingdom

  • @Spikehog37 I don't think she cares, obviously.

  • BY GOD! WHAT ON EARTH??!!? NOOOOOOOOO!!! HOW CAN WE PLAY THE NATIONAL ANTHEM OF THE COUNTRY OF TRAITORS!!!!

  • @Kotassium ...Idiot

  • @Kotassium

Shut up you idiot. Im more patriotic to Great Britain that you will ever be. But this is not about the pride of one nation, this is about the pride of the human race. It shows the compassion and comaradery of our race when something terrible this terrible happens. Just look at the japan quakes and the floods in Pakistan. What ever creed or nationality you are, what ever history your countries have shared. When it rally matters, humanity pulls together.

  • @Kotassium Because we came from you :) You were the people that founded us.

  • @Kotassium A sa 15 year old what the fuck do you know.....U must have been about 5 when all this was going off...So shut the fuck up and go get your diapers changed.

  • @Kotassium Shut up you stupid little fuckwit.

  • @Kotassium Penis brain.

  • touching

  • this is my favourate video on youtube

  • I have to say even almost 10 years later this still makes me cry a little bit. I don't think this scar will ever fully heal. We love you Britain and we always will. :)

    Greetings from Virginia, USA

  • @trumpetSL08

    We love you too!.

  • That was quite moving.

  • To be honest, 9/11 was terrible but thats just a small part of the shit that goes on in a daily basis. No such thing as a civilized soceity

  • I wish I could ask both William Douglas (USA) and general William Howe (UK) about Landing at Kip's Bay and their feelings and friendship.

  • USA and ENGLAND forever!!

  • @matthewmttyd That's a good idea. Our countries are definitely close enough to make it work. I'd really like to visit England frequently. There's just so much to love about it!

God bless America, and God save the queen!

  • I am English, God Bless America. We have so much love and respect for you all. If i had to lay down my life in war, i would only do it (other than England) for America.

  • @mty1 the same goes for me i'd die from the uk as well other then america.

  • @matthewmttyd No, thank you. It's people like you, the Queen, and everyone else that shares your views that gives me hope for humanity. Your country performed a monumental act of support when those Americans needed it most. You have my thanks--not only as an American, but as a member of the human race. Because this is more than just a symbol of England's support for America, it's an act of cooperation and friendship between humans. And for that, I offer my undying gratitude.

  • As an American, this made my heart melt. I love you Brits.

  • So Americans adopted a British drinking song that is now the US national anthem

  • @MyMerlin1 yeah but that's how bad ass we are a drinking song yay baby

  • Do you know what I love about this video? It is not the video itself (though I will always appreciate UK for doing this), but comments down below. Never have I seen such love and compassion between UK and American people. With everyone's kind words, It causes me to have hope for humanity.

Thank You United Kingdom. Thank You for your help in the Iraq/Iran War. I always grateful for any support that you provided.

    God save the Queen!

Crap...I can't see the screen. It is too blurry.

  • George Washington woulda shit his pants.

  • It's nice we play your national anthem outside Buckingham Palace - some call us the 51st State of America!

  • @scarletjamable You see that as a bad thing?

  • @TheIceman567 no, it's nice - some say Israel is the 51st state of America, some say UK is, some say Canada is.

  • @scarletjamable People also say Colombia too.

  • @TheIceman567 Australia too!

  • @scarletjamable I like America but i don't like the UK being called a state of America ... We are our own nation ! God bless and good video :)

  • @94KJordan USA answers to UK and EU in general.... you guys could crush us politically and economically... thank god for the EU, its the only economy in the world right now holding everything together... and I can only apologize for the frivalous, american greed of the 80's and 90's that has caused this global meltdown... im not even going to apologize for fuck heads like george w bush, i didnt vote for the asshole.

  • @JessOnTheRun You must be oblivious to the bailouts that the germans and french have had to do for a couple of failed states of the EU then. The EU was caught up in the same mess.

  • @94KJordan true the UK is our own nation and not a state of USA, though some like the idea of being the 51st state.

  • @scarletjamable Why not. Some call America Isreal's Bitch but i don't care at least they're a great ally and sane like the UK.

  • Hi cousins!

  • Erm.... wow. 9/11 is sad I get it, sorry if I'm being a douche but how many Americans would play an anthem from another country? I'm from the States and I know we wouldn't because were douches. Britain has got a lot of heart despite the whiny kids who post ugly messages from there. I wish we could do something respectful back for them. But the government police state place here is a stifling prison and too cocky. I send love there and to New York.

  • @PrettyPolly65 Well the White House in the first time in it's history did fly the flag at half mass for another country (The UK) and we also play God save the Queen at the British Embassy in Washington DC.

  • very moving

  • Who is the guy in the foreground at 0:15? I recognise him but can't put a name - not Donald Rumsfeld is it?

  • @Badsellcut I'm not 100% sure, but I think that was the US ambassador to the UK at the time.

  • God bless the UK where I live and God bless America. This wasn't an attack on one nation or one religion. It was against humanity itself. My only hope is that we as a human race learn from 9/11 and other attacks around the world. Learn that there is no room for hate in this world. We have men and woman fighting right now. I don't want them to fight on behalf of our hate...but instead on behalf of our freedom.

    God Bless Humanity!

  • @mrman88 hear hear god bless the uk and us!

  • moving and very beautiful moment god bless you america

  • beautiful video.

id like to find out who the 17 people who disliked it were so i could give them a personal message

  • @matthewmttyd yes matt very very rong time.

  • i was at the WTC on 9/11 and by the grace of god i survived as a police officer i did my duty and stood next to 250 british police and firemen at the one year anniversary at ground zero. and after 7/7 I stood at attention and saluted the brave brits while God Save the Queen was being played at Ground Zero and i believe it was also around the USAwe have a special bond we are the keepers of western cilvilazation all english speaking countries of the world must stand together

  • If our mother is Britain then our brothers/sisters must be Canada, Australia and New Zealand. A bunch of countries that fight the good fight, always.

The only thing that I would love to see is the founding fathers reactions to the UK playing the American national anthem....my how times change.

  • @WerewolflovesKelly Your founding fathers were British :)

  • @MrGrafted

    This is true =p

  • In the darkest of times America and Britian have stood beside each other and helped on another out. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

  • @seantom2012 United States, Great Britain, the ANZACs... I'll stand the line with any of 'em, anytime, anyplace, no questions asked...

  • @Hvygunner

The awful events of 9/11 are as yesterday, and always will be so, must always be so.

    Evil was done that day.

    Fundamental Evil.

    Species extinguishing Evil.

Our Species, our Existence, our Planet, must not, DARE NOT, let such Evil take root, and flourish.

Nation, Race, Religion, is what this Evil feeds on, it drinks the 'blood' of dissent, flourishes on the misery of want.

We, TOGETHER, are all that is between this Evil, and our existence.

  • @seantom2012 @MrDeano324 Awesome. But the only problem with this is that when I scroll down, I'll see nothing but hate comments. haha

  • @dissident93 Please forgive us but we like you have our fair share of IDIOTS who manage to break their staright jacket straps and get onto the Aslyums computer...

We are working hard on upping thier meds !

  • @grooverheliboy Keep up the work. haha

  • @matthewmttyd I ruv u!

  • @matthewmttyd Yeah I know loved ones who were out there fight. My own family. Not just mothers or Fathers but families. And i know my cousin every second is drawing closer and closers again to the call to arms. So don't tell me about what it's like to have a loved one on the line.

  • @matthewmttyd And frankly you are gonna have to get over it. There is nothing we can do about it. We have no say that's why the people who lead us are fucked up. They don't care about people once they are voted in.

  • @matthewmttyd I just don't like seeing two people get split due to a cunt who won't even get a second term. All my anger is focused on that monkey in power and not the American people mate. The problem is those kinds of words have an effect politically which then trickle down into society.Yeah I also believe Obama will be out soon all tho the question is how much damage is he going to do to the US before he leaves.

  • @matthewmttyd Yeah, Sounds to me you are you are yelling at us? Acting like we are the ones that sad what Obama said? Yeah you lost love ones so have we . But to come here are give out the riot act for what most Americans are not for is a shame. We had nothing to do with it. In fact all i see is Americans writing good things out the UK. Don't yell at the American person for what Obama did write to the white House.

  • @matthewmttyd Yeah no Shit. But your sitting here crying over Obama Matt like it the end of the world. My say.

  • @matthewmttyd Oh for god shake will you get off the government crap please most American like the British over the french any day. Obama is twat and will get what's coming to him. But for now we just have sit back and wait.

  • All I can say is America has no better nor greater friend then the mighty British. May God Bless our two nations and may our bond never be broken.

  • @matthewmttyd The Relationship is still strong as if we the people keep it that way. Not What people in government say we'll never meet them or have a say for they want and what they take from us. It's the people that make country great not Governments.

  • this 1970's american, nato-soldier from AFN Mons(shape), will always remember my Brit friends from the southhamptons.

not even the war for independence will shake my bond with the islands of England, Ireland and Scotland.

    the burning monk

  • The British have no greater friend than the people of the USA.

My thanks to all those people in GB that are allied with America in the fight against terror.

Also, thanks to the military of GB for honoring our citizens by playing our national anthem.

  • @cbarsonfire

The first time in history another countries national anthem has been played in place of God Save The Queen at the changing of the guard. And we Brits are proud to say it was the U.S national anthem. 9/11 made me feel ashamed to be human. Im just surprised no other country did the same...Yes there is national pride, and playing another countries anthem can sometimes be a dent in that. But there are other times when compassion and respect are needed. This was one of those times.

  • @MrDeano324

Thank you and the British people for the kindness and continued friendship.

The British have been there for America and we will continue to do the same.

Sometimes of disagreements create friction between our countries but when the chips are down you know who can be counted on.

May god bless the Queen and bring peace.

  • @MrDeano324 I agree completely. I can only hope that the rest of the world, America included, can follow this example.

I have a deep love and respect for the British, made even deeper after seeing this video. Your country has done so much for us, and it feels like ours has done so little for you. I pray that we can be there to help you in your time of need, like you were and always will be for us. Truly the UK is the greatest ally we could ever ask for.

  • @MrDeano324 I have never seen another country do this. It comming from a a nation as proud as the british it truly shows how special our relationship is. They are playing a song which was made fighting the british. They have nothing to prove they have already done that throughout history. I was amazed to watch this video. I almost cried watching this. The united states and great britain become one country when clouds start to gather. No man gets more respect in the whitehouse then the british Pm

  • @MrDeano324 The United States Marine Corp Band did go down to the British Embassy in Washington and play God Save the Queen after the attacks of London.

  • @MrDeano324

Britian we fricking love you guys and Tony Blair. Thank you so much for your support!

  • @cbarsonfire

My only quarrel being, it would have been nice if America had returned the gesture on 7/7. But I guess when you carry out a kind act, you tend to expect nothing in return.

  • @MrDeano324 We did. For the first in history the the White House flew the flag at half mass and played God save the Queen at the British embassy in Washington D.C.
