The great state of Texas produces defiant innovative guitar slingers like china produces cheap plastic toys..as a proud native i consider myself lucky to be a part of this storied tradition of kick ass rock and roll!!!
ill give you stevie ray vaughan, but you must be damn crazy to say these guys are innovative in any way whatsoever. and live, they sound like the dopey 16 year olds who play in their garage down the street. dont get me wrong, ZZ Top made some good songs, but innovative?
Any Texan will know these guys rock. I am glad to say i am a Texan. Usually drink some brews to these toons. These guys rock. Are they still doing live shows?
I came home with my best friend after witnessing the Indy 500 for the first time and cranked some ZZ Top Deguello and smoked some kick ass weed. We are bad, bad, bad.
these guys are absolutely incredible. I had a friend tell me years ago that that Billy Gibbons was an influence on Hendrix. Never new if it was true until I read recently that Gibbons' earlier band opened for Hendrix in Texas a number of time in 69 or 70. He just kills this jam at the end of the song, just insane.
No we use it in the expression "the dogs bollox" meaning something that is real good. The car ZZ Top drive in their eliminator era is an example of this. Hell yeahhhhhhhhhhh!!!
oh... I shall ask her about that.. she is in her mid 50's so, maybe it has taken on a new meaning, kinda like "hot" means "cool" now..back when a hoe was a hoe, coke was a coke, screw was a screw...
