1This is a revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants the events that must soon take place. He sent an angel to present this revelation to his servant John, 2 who faithfully reported everything he saw. This is his report of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.....?
2nd best version. ive heard em all, from Blind Willie to the Blues Brothers 2000. Curtis Stigers takes the cake with the cover he did for the Sons Of Anarchy but Mellencamp comes in at a close 2nd. LOVE this song!!
@Skip1967 Best version for me is Blnd Willie's...with the sweet vulnerable lone female voice in the background shaking with humility. I'm afraid the rock versions just thrash the song till there's little left.
@novadrian Well, might be the case if someone's a purist, but it has a nice gospel ring to it that certainly gives the spirit of the song. Originally the song is meant for gospel.
@novadrian For me Blind Willie and that Growling voice of his, kind of gets you by the throat ya know. I agree It doesn't get any better than that. I like his version of Nobody's fault but mine better than Zeppelin as well. The whole Presence album was kinda crap anyway.

Hey I'd go to church to hear John lay this down on the congregation. Some powerful stuff.

1 dislike? Are you fucking kidding. How do you hate this song. It's like not liking pizza.

One of the most "bad assed" version of this song. The backup girls make this special.

You can't beat Son House's version but that doesn't detract from this - love Mellencamp and love this. Amazing version with perfect backing singers.
