  • She was doing that, I believe, as a DEMONSTRATION. Certainly someone who wasn't attempting to give a visual tutorial of how to draw blood wouldn't touch the needle, or the injection site itself. I do believe she was doing that to more properly educate people on where the site itself was. And besides--everyone starts somewhere. There's a reason these people are in the class first, before they go out and draw blood from actually human beings. ;) Practice makes perfect. :)

  • wow thats dangerous. very poor needle handling

  • Oh and its sharps container not biohazard bin. Specify what kind.. you don't want people reaching in and receiving a needle stick injury.

  • yooo its a circular motion outwards to prevent dirt from recontaminating the area. Im currently practicing medical laboratory technologist and its fun but challenging

  • was that a real human? and was that real blood?

  • I'm an MA and she fucked up she crossed over and.didn't break the seal. Worng wrong.wrong

  • Yeah!!! Leave that tourniquette on all that long ass time. This is painfull to watch. Fail!!!

  • @divy78 hey you had a bad word in your comment!!!!

  • she doesn't even know how to open the syringe packet lol how do expect her to do draw blood right pfff

  • WRONG WAY ALLTHE WAY

  • I just started going to school for this, I'm 19 and know this is the completely wrong way. I have only been in school for two days too -_-

  • Very good for teaching "not to do" Holy cow! This video is from last year, i hope this is just a joke.

  • WRONNNNGGG! YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO APPLY THE ALCOHOL SWAB IN A CIRCULAR MOTION!!!

  • u fucked up so bad on this pachient

  • holy shit.. was she seriously wearing open toe shoes??? would you really wanna be wearing that while drawing blood with a needle???

  • The blind leading the eye-less. Good intentions, but this method is not of good quality, especially considering that 26,658 times this video was played.

  • With the alcohol pad you wipe in to out and you never go back over that spot with the same pad.....it will reinfect the area

  • This video needs to be removed! You are not doing it correctly at all!

  • I'm not a 100% on how to draw blood cuz I'm just learning but I CAN DO A WAY BETTER JOB THEN U, SORRY I WOULD NOT LET YOU DRAW MY BLOOD. U don't know what ur doing

  • I am so glad that wasn't a real patient! That was horrible!

  • damn they did it the old way that looked like it wouldve hurt though..

  • OMG I would nah let her draw my blood!!!!! U wipe da patient in a circl motion and do nah wipe where u wiped wit da same dirty pad u wiped... U do nah touch da spot u disinfect to check for the vein again and if u do u must wipe da area again...U neva eva touch da needle!!!!! OMG... thanx God i was taught betta than diz! Wat school do u go?

  • I am in school for phlebotomy. The comments were helpful. I have my first live patient next week.

  • you did it wrong...

  • Turn up the volume then come back and do it right!

  • No I ment how to actually draw it like with a pencil DX

  • you are to clean the site with a circular motion from inside to out, your finger was way to close to the needle, you should pull the skin against the needle.

  • You did too many mistakes for someone who's trying to teach others. First of all you need to locate the vein. You don't needlestick a patient without being confident enough that you'll hit a vein. Everything else has already been mentioned.

  • oh my that was horrible in so many ways

  • Never use a syringe to draw blood

  • WOW !! Go back to school. I would be ashamed if I was doing this to a real human.

  • @313corie I agree, that would hurt so much on a live pt.

  • I would never let her do that to me.....i never got blood drawn and im 13 and i no this is completly WRONG Foreign Biatoch

  • @neversaynever929 they tryd to draw blood frem me 3 nurses tryd but cot nothing so the draw from my hand

  • You must clean the puncture site in concentric circles If the prep pad retouches the same area twice, the site is yet again contaminated. Also, its wise to break the seal on the plunger befor hand whenever using the syringe method. Lastly, its safer to use a transfer device when filling an evac tube, this will prevent an accidental needal stick.

  • i dont know a damn this about drawing blood but i know that this shit was wrrroooonnngg!

  • You did it wrong in so many ways, First the way you put antiseptic (alcohol) you should go on circle and shouldn't go back on the first spot, second you shouldn't put your finger on top of the needle and third you shouldn't make a peace sign after ahaha...

  • @xbaymicx and dont ever ever EVER wear SANDALS when doing this procedure!

  • Thanks for the video!

  • @ancientsumeria dont follow it. supervisor would fire you on the spot
