No, great white sharks primary food source IS mammals; they eat seals. Lots and lots of seals.

They eat them for the thick layers of fat, which is good for the shark.

The reason they dont tend to eat people, and only bite them, is mostly because they are either just checking them out (they have no hands to do this, only teeth), or mistake people on the surface for a seal.

They will only eat people if they are very hungry, havent eaten for ages

A shark would really just bite you once and then not care about you after unless you really proved to be a threat or something. They have a hard time digesting mammals and are geared for eating fish instead. Most violent shark attacks are because they feel things out with their mouth and they have a fuck ton of bite force.

That's a good observation I kinda missed. They won't eat you and most land mammals though since you don't have enough high-fat meat for them. They need a lot of fuel to power their large muscular bodies. The reason Seals are an exception is because they have blubber to keep them warm in the water and that fat makes them dinner.

I can put a 4 pound weight on you and you'll feel nothing, but if I put that four pounds of weight behind a single sharp sturdy nail it's going through you like a knife through butter probably. That's the physics of pressure. Force/(Surface Area) and it's how a sharp knife can cut you but a metal bar can't.
