207445 is right but a big ddifferince is that the grizzly has lockers and a bigger lift with irs and the smart person with rubicon does not have lockers or irs so theres the reson why the grizzly did better but honda is by all means better
Fuck you with the polaris, i have a 1999 600 grizzly and i towed out a couple of polaris a 500 sportsman and a 800 sportsman. And my grizz outlasted all of my friends bikes, the grizz has almost got 18,000 klicks
iv had polarises all my life and iv had 3 yamahas and i bought all the yamahas brand new from a place called sunsports anad every one of them lasted about a year before they just completly wore out and i bought all my polarises used off of craigs list no grant it polarises are a little harder to work on, i have a 1997 polaris magnum 425 4x4 with a 2 inch lift with 29.5 outlaws with no clutch kit nothin just a pipe and its been with me for 6 years now and iv only chnged the belt 1 time
how about this, you take a hardened mud rider, and a little city slicker boy who has driven nothing larger than a lawn mower and put them in a pit with a 300 honda, whos gonna win? it does not matter the brand i will drive it, i prefer honda, but thats me, it is ALL the driver, a good driver can take that honda anywhere, but a bad driver would sink that yamaha anyday so no 1 brand is absolutely the best, there are just better drivers, and worse drivers.
@207445 while this is mainly true, a polaris cannot compete with these other brands, they have to many mechanical issue and they always end up with slipping belts...
@duckbustnbenelli1 I agree with that, i do not like polaris, I prefer shaft driven, much more reliable and longer lasting. but i would still take a polaris, if it was that or nothing.
I have a Yamaha Big Bear 400 and I know Honda still has the best period. I own a Honda too its even more reliable than the big bear. Some models just have nicer features or whatever but the engine is what matters to me.
I bet at the end of the day they all had some beers and some laughs. Who cares what bike is better. I have a better place to ride then all of you. HA HA.
Yami may have more power but you get that belt wet and its all over, Honda keeps truckin on through the water. I've pulled out friends with the Griz or the Rhino many of times. I use my Rincon for plowing and it does just fine, I don't know anyone who needs low gear for plowing anyway, but for pulling my plot disc I have to admit to borrowing my buddy's Rhino with the 4 low. But I also has a Foreman 500 with the granny 1st gear and that pulled my 8 foot disc without a sweat. Yami and Honda RULE!
@granturismo5rocks1 no i live in north east, PA and all there is to do with Sport quads is hill climb when we get 4'' of snow those quads cant go anywhere
When it comes to mud holes its mostly the tires. Traction or floating, both have good and bad abilities. Ground clearance is another thing that matters in rutted out holes. And how you shift your weight when you get in the hole. I like Honda just because the service and parts are good where I live and it works best on the trails we have. You cant go fast on narrow little trails in Buxton so you don't need fast, wide, and heavy Yamahas. Hondas are better work machines than Yamaha.
@BuxtonRedneckProds +1 except for the yamaha being heavy part i havent seen a heavy yamaha in my life a 700 grizz weighs 8 pounds more than a 680 honda stock but they r wide
I like the drive shafts on my honda they last forever if you change oil now and then and bout every 3years new gear oil my 04 foreman 450 with 29" mudwhiches will go anywhere my little brothers kawasaki brute force 750 vtwin with mudd lites only thing is that beast will just get up ang leave every other quad in his dust in a race but hills mud water they do bout the same so we will see how it holds up in long run next to honda lol
@startinslow Don't forget front differential lock. Why Honda has it on the Big Red UTV and none of their ATVs I'll never know.
Also don't forget that some Hondas, such as the Rincon, have no low range. And the Rincon only has 3 speeds. This may be fine for general trail riding but it sucks in slow, technical trails and for rock crawling.
How about neither one! Polaris is the best and would have probably pushed both those Quads thru the mud at the same time! If people would just do the research and compare these Quads side by side they would put the Japanese companies out of business.
honda all the way, funny thing, i had to push my uncle out of a mudhole and he had big mud tires on and i had slick tires on a rubicon and pushed him out and went on through where he got stuck at. yamaha sucks, always has sucked and always will suck. they should stick to what they are good at, making keyboards and drums, not mud machines
@1986ldh shut up, both are good bikes, ya sorry redneck ass makin Honda to have a bad name. ihad Honda now got Yamaha, but ya gonna listen ti ya monkey ass, kiddo
honda there more reliable most people think so and the only reason was because the grizzly had more ground clearance because of irs but the rincon and new rancher both have irs so they would do about the same as the grizzly in that hole. but honda doesnt use a belt for the transmission which is good every other brand that has a belt always slips or at least every one that i have seen, my dads artic cat, my friends polaris, my friends grizzly all slip, so sooner or later the belt will slip =/
@AbominablePenguin37 i got a 2004 bruin 350 yamaha 2x4 with the auto belt trans that has had no problems ever [knock on wood] and it is used everyday through mud and snow and rain and cow shit and it carries hay and way over its max capacity in 5 gallon buckets of corn to feed our cattle daily so i think they are pretty reliable
apple and oranges for mudding, but i'll take the HONDA over any bike any day!
that yam-a-honky will be in the scrap yard along with all the polarises, kawasakies, and suzukies in 5 years, while that honda will still be trucking along!
@mgtmaniac : LOL! the are the same in that they all have 4 wheels! i am not talking trash. i am stating a fact that other brand fans don't like. honda's are built to last and are low maintenance. everyone knows that.
@cjr4497 yea definatly u fuckin faget i got a 99 sportsman 500 and i worked shit out of that bike and its still halling ass i guarentee you that my polaris would fuck up your Honda piece of shit......
@cjr4497 your fucing retarted. my suzuki out lived my honda right now mu suzuki is 18 years old and my honda is 6 years old my dads yamaha is 11 years old and it has only had the right wheele baring break.
@yamahaman1234 dude, save it. i know 4 personally who have owned yamaha atv's and they all got rid of them in less than 5 years. only one of the guys rode the bike exceptionally hard and it ended up in the junk yard after 3 years. they all have honda's now except for one. he has a polaris. suzuki and yamaha make great outboard motors. i own and have owned both. they were awesome. their atv's on the other hand leave a lot to be desired.
@cjr4497 I dont know if its just your guys luck but were having the opposite issues with the hondas breaking down. Dont get me wrong honda is one of my favorite brands but the yamahas have never let us down
@123devinzz1 hey, all i knowz is what i seez. every body like different things. i own items that most have had bad luck with yet serve me great. i have been luck in that regard.
@123devinzz1 my dad has a 300 honda 4 wheeler 4x4 which was the first year they made a honda 4x4. he bought it new and all he's done to it was change a weel barring and a rear axel seal. now tell me which is better a honda or a pile of junk yamaha?
I pulled my two buddies out of a swamp on my 650 Rincon at the same time , both their bikes got the belts soaked and they wouldn't turn a tire, can u guess what they were ridin' ? A Grizz 660 and a 2009 Grizz 700, they had brand new mud lites and terra cross's, I had bald stock tires. Boy were they unhappy about that... and i'll never let them live it down... !! :)
@vaginabuster2000 the only reason you pulled them out was cause their belts were slipping.those grizzlies are some beast if you seal the belt case.put that rincon to shame
Seriously? The honda had smaller tires and a straight axle...the yamaha almost had as much trouble w/ IRS AND larger tires! Not to mention the Honda will be running at the end of the day!
hey nice video! watch my videos of racing our grizzly 660s and a 700 grizzly against sport quads on and off the track. my videos show the log section of the off road. watch grizzlys take on the sport quads on the logs
I like how everyone thinks a certain brand is better than others an fight about it, its fun reading their BS. i own honda an yamaha, as long as it isnt a damn chinese quad that lasts a week im good, ill take any quad brand.
@SerrranoGrizzly to hell with it just get a 6'' lift kit, gorilla axels, a heavy duty clutch, HotCams, and 32'' Gorilla Silverbacks, or 30'' Interco Black Mambas......enough said
@huntingdude01 i think the problem was the straight axel on the honda hangin up...Ground clearence is king when other facters like power and size are taken out.
ive had my grizzly 660 for a while now and in all this time going through eater and beieng rough on it the belt hasnt slipped, mothing major hachappened only a cV clip came lose a 10 minute fix so i dont talk down honda why tell lies?

hondas are the best, you can beat the shit out of them and they will never die. Yamahas on the other hand are pieces of shit

hell i think it's just the tires.... the honda had plenty of power to turn it's tires but it jsut couldn't grip
huntingdude01 2 years ago 2
@huntingdude01 i think the problem was the straight axel on the honda hangin up...Ground clearence is king when other facters like power and size are taken out.
