I'd move it about 10ft away, update the coords and see what happens. If it goes missing it's probably a peed off cacher not liking the idea, thats what happened up north with mine
It's pretty rare that same cache goes away many times, imho. If its really muggled (found and removed accidentally by non-gamer) putting it back will suffice. And geotrasher trolls *rarely* return to same cache more than maybe 2-3 times. You might need switch to mysterys if geotrashers are a major local issue.
What you need is a hinge so that one side is in the ground and the other attached to the dog poo. If some one tries to move it they will notice its a cache.
I can't wait to take a huge shit next to my next geocache and comeback to see fingerprints in it....
