Wow, I used to work for The American Orient Express as a baker and I never thought I'd ever see it again after I heard it was mothballed! Great times...thank you for posting.
I think the cars are in American Canyon, California now. I saw them from Highway 29 and it appeared to be an entire train of matched blue and cream cars, maybe including a dome car. They're on the California Northern Railroad, I think just in storage.
@Driverman2008 They had a New England -fall colors tour that went from Mass. to Quebec City, Canada. It was quite visualy stunning to see New England in the fall by rail. You get to see so much more then by car or even on foot.
Thanks! Nope, Mansfield Depot was just the last spot I shot both video & slides. The rest of the run to New London I only shot slides. This was a deadhead move to Providence, RI where the passengers would board for a fall foliage tour of New England.
May have been the first time this part of the NECR saw a passenger train since the Montrealer ended.
