One of the best pieces of music, from one of the best episodes. Bless you, Paddy McGoohan. Bless you, Clough Williams-Ellis. I wanna die in Portmeirion.
Thank goodness for Youtube. I thought I was the only one who would have ever thought about this background music to A, B & C. And here you all are! ....
Fantastic music to a fabulous episode! McGoohan fans: I have written, and am directing a play about the man - in Manchester next month. 'Everyman: The Story of Patrick McGoohan - The Prisoner'. Email theprisonermcgoohan@yahoo.co.uk for details.
this is one groovy vibe man, when i saw the prisiner series this song always stuck in the back of my mind, its such a catchy rythmn and quintesentialy 60's.
'Watch him for me, will you darling? He's the last sane man in the world.' 'I like sane men. Are you in business?' 'I was.' ' You're young to retire.' 'Age is relative.' 'Meaning, you're free.' 'Possible...' 'I - know something. And the pay is very good.' 'I'm free.' 'Number six. I'm sure it's your lucky number...'
I'm in my early 30's so I missed the 1960's, but I get to sort of get the feeling of the 60's through music and shows like The Prisoner or Monty Python. If I had a time machine one of the first times I would visit would be the 60's!
This is by Jack Arel. It seems to me to be a play on "I know a place" - by Petula Clark, a great Brit Pop song, but this brass and big horns were emblematic of this time across the Atlantic and the globe. AND I LOVE IT!
Niceeee!!!

Man! I love this song! I still remember The Prisoner straightening the mirror while this song was playing in the background.
