I wish these guys would just get back together already. I would see them live in a heartbeat & I would probably take some mind altering substances with me. Heh heh.
tracks like albanian and tiny silver hammers are some of the best tracks never recorded on cd. endless supply of live shows of gybe on archive(dot)org
Dammit I would have been there, but my best friend had to go and plan his wedding for the same day. Anyway, c'mon guys, put Mt Zion on hiatus for a little while and bless us with more music!
that's just because the audio quality of this video is really bad. try to download another version from archive dot org (go in the site and search godspeed, you'll find it ;). I recommend that from the show at 9:30 Club in Washington DC, USA (4th March 2003): it's awesome!

I saw them perform March 5th in Baltimore, Maryland at the Temple of the Free Masonry. Yes, the venue is as cool as it sounds and yes, the show was simply mind blowing.
This show must have been that of 7 March 2003 (go on the official site of gy!be and you'll find the list of all their shows, with tracklist where available).
The show of 8th March is that of 40 Watts Club in Athens!
By the way thank you for posting..you'll receive a private message soon!
I was going to drive down to Pittsburgh all the way from near Buffalo to see that show...I really regret not doing that now since I will never get the opportunity to see them play.
Wikipedia says: BOSS GE-7 Equalizer, BOSS TR-2 Tremolo, Maestro Fuzzstain, Z.Vex Tremolo Probe, Z.Vex Super Hard On, Mutron Phaser II, Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler
I know that Maestro Fuzzstain is one of the old Moog models. They are really rad, and the distortion and volume knobs are huge and easy to move with your feet. Sometimes they pop up on ebay.
Yep! Those are films that Efrim (guitarist) makes to go along with the music. I think "Hope" is a reference to something they spoke about awhile back. They said they would all buy a hammer and beat the white house and pentagon down, brick by brick. Now they have shirts with tiny hammers that say "hope" on them. :p
do you remember the obnoxious person yelling "play something we can dance to! asheville likes to dance!!". that was horrible.
fortunately, i toughed it out because for some reason i've managed to block out the negatives from that night and just remember how great of a band godspeed was.
I haven't been to a Godspeed show, but the people at pretty much every show I go to suck. We usually just try our best to get up front so we don't have to look at anyone except the band. I would love to get to see these guys live.
I seen GY!BE last night in the Barrowlands in Glasgow.... It was life changing!! So bloody intense! I loved it!! :D

Pretty good. Reminds me of The Angelic Process for a while, but then it adds some more ethnic sounds into the mix.

Agreed. You would decide to alter the perfection that would be the rejoining of Godspeed for the first time in over (x+7) years?

no need for mind altering substances. GY!BE are mind altering on their own

'Albanian' was actually available for download on their website for a very brief period in early 2003.

I don't get this music at all. It sounds like cheap thrills for a B-movie. Mostly it just sounds like offensive fucking noise.
