After the Pearl is an extremely underrated album. I was lucky enough to get a copy of it on CD and it's great from beginning to end. Molland is a great songwriter, and he doesn't get enough credit for all he did before, during, and after his Badfinger days.
saw this lineup at the sahara club in cleveland. what a great show they put on. literally made the hair on my back stand up ! r.i.p Mike ! Randy Andersen was also a killer guitarist ! One of my favorite shows i have ever seen.
Wow! I am blown away. Mike and Joey rockin' big time. Joey's guitar work is one of my favs. He (I hate to say this) is so underated. Beautiful leads. Just sit back and stare at his guitar playing. He truely is in my humble opinion a master. His voice has a quality that we all should treasure too. One of beauty and rough. Missing Mike alot these days. A drummer that played the "song" not the "drums". I wish all happiness to all the Badfinger relatives and close friends.
It KILLS me that they never hit the low D when playing this riff, instead opting for the easy-to-tune-to E. At least we have the record, which speaks volumes of Joey's song writing talent and secures his place among the Gods of Rock.
