    Hilarious.

    Kelvin

  • I'm not normally a fan of abstract art but I do love this. it reminds me of zentangles. I like the way your paintings emerge as you go along.

  • You thought about it all day and it came out so GREAT.

  • nice work!

  • I love this painting full of symbols and opening to lots of questions ;) Thanks for sharing

  • Wou, I like it, very interesting painting!!!!!

So, did you do varnishing, bc of using lot of pencils or crayons, not sure!!!???

  • This painting was acrylics and permanent markers on canvas, so no need to varnish.

  • @debcoart

Thanks, I still dont know what to varnish or what not>>>:))))

I like to varnish, bc painting look much better after!!!

  • The best thing to do is to test your paints, markers pens and pencils to see if the wet varnish would remove them.

The general rule is that varnishes/fixatives can be applied to anything as a final coat. But in the case of acrylics, it is most often not needed. Mixed medias will probably need a coating of something. Watercolors....sprays only. Normally, they will placed under glass to protect them, so a finish isn't always required.

Every artist is going to have a different theory.

  • @debcoart

Thanks Deb, it is going to help me a lot!

On my acrylic I use spray-varnishing, like you said about watercolors if I understand what did you mean.....

  • @HanaPainting just to add to what the poster of the vid said..

I'd be careful with Varnish, many times I've done a painting and used pencils or pens, and when I put on the varnish it smudges and smears it all over the place, and ruins your painting. So...I'd always test on a small area, or put some of the materials on a bit of paper and paint varnish on...just as a test. A lot of the time, you don't need varnish anyway. :)

  • Wow you created that, and I'm very impressed well done 5 stars is coming your way...

    Plus I love 2:15 2:16 and 2:17

  • THANK YOU, M.A.M!! Appreciate your comments always!!

  • You're awesome at abstracts. You sure use a lot of black and white in your pieces. What does THAT mean for you?

  • I'm not really sure what all the black and white means...if anything. Some years ago, just to take a break from all of the colorful artwork that I normally do, I painted a series that I called the Black & White series.

  • i like it how a painting changes , i love it.

  • Thank you! Glad you like it!

  • Watch and the 26 segment of the painting is 3 D! This is amazing and I am wondering about the time frame invovled before you decided to put it away for the night? It is amazing.

  • Thank you, Val!!!!!! Oh gees, I don't know how long I worked on this one....I wasn't timing it. And it was so long ago that I am clueless....not unusual for me. hehehe

  • Thank you, Scott! You have some abstract ides of your own, don't you????? hehehehe

  • Nice work, I can dig it.

  • thats pretty awesome!

  • Thank you, my sweet! xoxoxoxoxox

  • I like the "Game of Life" idea. The design is eye candy, too.

  • Thanks, Michael! I have your celeb portraits on my list of videos to watch this week.......

  • This is an really cool piece of art. I really like that you went through thinking what it was all about, and what certain pieces mean for you. I will check out your Ning!

  • Hello, little smileycat! Thanks for watching and for commenting.

  • Oh I love this painting, full of symbols.. *great*! Nice to hear your story of it too, I couldn't understand all (because English is not my language) but I understood a lot because your voice is not in a hurry.

  • Carla, I am from the Midwest part of the US....we generally speak slowly in that area of the country. I have tried to speed up my speaking because I know that it puts a lot of people to sleep! It never seems to work out, though.

  • I have heard of this Ning sight.. Need to check it out. Very niceeeee. I like it. Bun waves Hi

    bunnies rule

  • Yes, Ning is a cool place. I've been over there this morning fiddling with my network and have completely screwed it up, though. LOL!

  • it has alot of meaning even in 1 look.

  • Thank you, Toshi!

  • Awesome painting! I really like this one, it's very interesting!

  • i like it the way it is. peace. gregg

  • Thank you, Gregg. Happy Valentine's Day!

  • Hippie....I have not heard that word in years. I love abstract art because it can mean whatever we want it to. Cheers.

  • Same here....I like abstract art because it allows not only the artist, but the viewer to use their imagination.

Yes, the hippie word. I lived in Boulder, Colorado, for 17 years and there are still piles of hippies down on the Boulder Mall.

  • That's neat,

  • Thank you!

  • pretty beautiful eye - like mine :D

  • Yes, indeed you do have beautiful eyes.

Happy Valentine's Day! Love you latest vid of Sharky and Max.

  • hey deb

nice music on the background ;P what is it

  • TG....this music came with my mini Mac in the iMovie 08 program. It's one of the jingle tunes in there. Does that help?

  • lol! I love it! Thank you for adding more beauty to the world!

  • And thanks to you, too. Happy Valentine's Day!

  • Very well done Deb! That is so interesting that something you did not intend developed anyway. I liked the eye and everything else. Yeah, life can be a maze at times!

  • Thanks, sugar! Something I did not intend on a painting is a regular occurrence. These things seem to have a mind of their own!

  • great job the all seeing eye has got me wondering if your inner thoughts are leading you toward the New World Order.

Learn about the subject at infowarsdotcom

  • I'm not much on new world orders, or any kind of orders. The word order gives me the heebie-jeebies! It sounds too conformed and controlling somehow. I'm sure it isn't, but I'm not much of a group-joiner.

Thanks for the info, though! I truly appreciate it!

  • i've grwon to like your interpretations, more! ^^

so, according to this painting my life should start to get more organized and stuff. hopefully!

  • LOL! I'm not making any guarantees, girl! I've personally mellowed considerably during the aging process, and a lot of that is because I can't move around as fast anymore. So the movement has to be a mental one and just leave the body behind.

  • I love it, Deb! Heeheehee, I can relate to not knowing if it's finished or not...my hubby says I never know when to quit!!! ;)

  • Well, I think you do a wonderful job for 'not knowing when to quit'. I have this habit of painting over earlier paintings when I get sick of looking at them. Adds some nice textures.......:D

  • :( I don't think he was JUST referring to my paintings....HAR HAR

I love your eye. I tend to doodle eyes all the time. I wonder if that means something.

    XOXOXO

    shell

  • nice!

This could represent all the crazy ting that humans see.

  • Things* not tings lol. Also how we interpret them and what they cause for us.

  • Hey, I like tings! :D I like to think that universes exist like this somewhere and we are simply tapping into them from time to time. Like in the Twilight Zone, you know?

  • Yeah, I see what you mean. -nods-

  • So very cool to see the eye appear right there on its own~ You're painting from a whole new dimension~ LOVE IT !!!

  • I always have painted from a new dimension and have had to reel myself back in to paint some realistic stuff to please others. But not just that...it pleases me, too. I am beginning to have more affinity for this universe. Uh oh....there I go again sounding like an alien. LOL

  • awesome ... great explanation, too ... thanks for sharing your journey :) ... xoxo

  • Thanks, Lisa. Sometimes I wonder about my mind when I get images that look like this!

  • awesome painting!!

    eyeball ♥

  • hahahaha! Eyeball is right. Did you hear how husky my voice was at that point in the video? I had just awakened in the middle of the night and was working on the painting...must have been 3 AM...really groggy, and I notice this eyeball on the canvas. It had been there the whole time and I hadn't seen it........

  • DEB THATS my absolute fav you've ever done that I've seen!!!!! Its just oh so cool. Loved hearing you in it and as you went along.... Verrry interesting....

Deb have you adopted THING from the Adam's family , ...grins :D

  • THING from the Adam's family was one of my all-time fav characters. In the future a portrait of me will probably look like that....I don't like having my face in the vids anyhow!

  • very cool deb!!!!

    rock on-space

  • Rock on, to you, too, babes!

  • that's a great painting!

  • Glad to hear that you like it!

  • I didn't get over to Ning yet. BUT I will. Just a crazy week.

    LOVING the abstract

Nice to hear your story of it :)

Rare you get to see the artwork AND hear about it from the artist :)

    Thanks DEB GREAT WORK

  • I got a kick our of your uhm video that londonpenda made for you! hahahaha!

  • Thanks Deb. Ray is very creative ;)

  • I love doing things like this. I usually just use paper and ink but it sure can be fun. :-)

  • Yes, it can! I made some smaller ones similar to this in the ACEO size a couple years back.
