  • Is this seriously the original?

  • @Uiks55

The song is the original version (by YMO in 1983), but the music video is not. For the original music video, check out:

  • and those men made the original song.

  • @kenichisaitohchenii

No, it was YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra), a pioneering Japanese synthpop band, who created the original song in 1983.

  • Dear god, I just hate the original ! It's horrible, so boring, the man's voice, ARGHH ! I will never heard this sucking song again !!! Bye. O_O

  • @AnimationFlash

    Did someone just say... weeaboo?

  • @AnimationFlash Really? We all have our own opinions I guess. I actually really preferred the original to the maria holic version. This version just sounds so romantic and sincere. It might be a little boring, cheesy, and old school but I imagine someone with a crush would sing like this, not super high-pitched and fast.

  • @snowpeach12

Yes, it might sound like a typical 80s synth-pop song today, but one should keep in mind that YMO were the pioneers of synth-pop, which they've been producing since at least 1978. Even this song, "Kimi ni Mune Kyun", sounded very fresh back in 1983, as there was nothing else quite like it back then.

  • Also, apparently this song was written by Ryuichi Sakamoto (YMO member and award-winning film composer) for his baby daughter back in the early 80s (or it could have been "Ongaku", another song from the same album). In this context, it might make a lot of sense why the original version of the song sounds fairytale-like and the original video looks cheesy.

  • @AnimationFlash

Good for you, but I'd take the original 1983 version by YMO over the Maria Holic cover version any day. The voices in the Maria Holic cover might be charming, but sound way too "kawaii", high-pitched, and computerized, and the heavy techno beats are way too fast and drown out the voices. The YMO original, on the other hand, has a smooth and charming synth sound, steady beats, and realistic voices.

  • you guys are my heroes. :D

  • That was the best :D

and very funny vid too ^^

  • lol i used to play by the steps in upper skl

  • hehe funny music video XD

  • how did this get +9000 views? That's quite an achievement, for something like this.

and... were you guys bored or something?

    ^-^

  • We'd run out of ideas.

  • @Poehbaby music is beautifull, shut up

  • @vulpescana I wasn't talking about the music ¬¬

  • weeaboos

  • awesome!

  • Lmfao, it was actually kinda funny.

  • In hindsight, it's alot better than I thought. Still... it's fairly obvious we had no idea what we were going to film.

  • Too good. The best music video ever, save the original. In fact, possibly better than the original.
