Anyone here played Chrono Trigger - Flames of Eternity? Downloaded the game, and started playing it on my SNES EMULATOR yesterday. Man, it's not perfect like the original, but I think the game is awesome! I guess you should at least try playing it. Same battle system, same graphics, same characters(some new characters...), new history!^_^
This game's soundtrack, along with numerous others (Especially Squaresoft games), proves beyond a doubt that the SNES had far superior sound hardware to the Genesis. You just don't get music like this on Genesis.
When I first started playing RPGs my older cousin gave me Chrono Trigger. He did all the endings and loved it. He wanted me to experience the love for this game that he had. I must say that I love this game more with every passing day. Games made nowadays lack what Chrono Trigger has. Wonderful story, excellent characters and just a place in my heart. My favorite character is hard to choose but Robo is a top contender due to what he goes through. I wish they would make more games like this.
a great job, by the great composer: Nobuo Uematsu, no doubt. I cried when hear this wonderful melody T-T the best game (for me) in the history of RPG'S
Bought this game on the Wii virtual console last year... I encourage anyone with a Wii to do the same! The game is amazing, in my opinion only matched by Ocarina of Time.
@killincat470 pretty much. once lavos was defeated the gates started disappearing but they all said farewells before stepping into the gate one at a time and being returned to their original years.
@mongomondomongo Yup =(. Hell go on Ebay buy yourself a SNES And Crono Trigger added bonus is the nostalgia and/or retro feeling. That's what I'm about to do.
The end of a semester comes to a close. All your work is done and you feel accomplished. You know you and the entire class personally set the bar high for the next group of students to go to the class you JUST completed.
You have nothing to say except sigh in relief for a job well done. Time will tick on as you look forward as you go on to your next big adventure.
Just beat this yesterday. (Let's just say I'm on a retro-gaming spree... I was just a toddler when the SNES was alive, so I didn't play many of those games).
And god, I haven't felt that great after a game since Earthbound. So perfect. I especially loved Lucca, but I was so impressed by this game. Great music, great plot, great gameplay (I was pretty stunned by the battle system). I would say more, but.. 400 character limit :P
I'll miss you, Chrono Trigger. Time to play Secret of Mana!
btw, when i hear this music it feels like one of my memories is trying to come out to let me remember something. i get such a headacke. what dose it want me to remember? and not only that... it feels like i lost my memory and cant remember
@misty11 It wants you to remember exactly how this felt, way back when you heard this for the first time. Happy you'd finished the game, sad that the adventure was over, no more places to explore, no more battles to fight. A curious combination of satisfaction and wistful longing as you watch them float away into the sky, holding onto those balloons and wishing you could be there with them.
The Best I get Chrono Trigger fever once a year, just saw the true Chrono Cross ending - never did - and it was quite nice. The whole Chrono universe imo is the most brilliant universe ever created, been playing it since I was 7 and I found it on my own because of the cover & squaresoft. I can't help but always love this game and what it did for me. Truly a gem in the library of video games.
@LinkedSnake Ergo... if Chrono Trigger music makes Chuck Norris cry, then it means that....... Chrono Trigger cures cancer!! Yasunori should get a Nobel for this
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which is electronic music inspired by great games such as Chrono Trigger. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
I played this game when it first came out. It blew my mind. The year 2000 was still 5 years away and this game's take on doomsday was so captivating. This game may have had the best ending of all time. It just tied all the knots and you could even affect certain events like Lucca's mom and whether or not you destroy the Epoch or save Chrono. To Yasunori Mitsuda, if you can see this, your music and this game made my life complete.
@Dreamewalker this commenter needs a medal, for underestimating in the largest way possible. chrono trigger was the Chuck norris of games, the sequel gave all of that away and started with a slap to the face called chrono cross. even today they make mistakes, but i don't care about the ff13 characters having no likeable personality. i'd much rather see chrono trigger 2 DONE RIGHT. (THUMBS UP DREAM TEAM!!!)
._. every video I see there's someone who's talking about how they cry at something. Seriously guys, I can be emotional too, but don't you think enough's enough? -_-
@UltimateTibu If there's any place to be emotional, it's listening to this song, especially in context after finishing the game. If you can't feel it, I swear you don't have a pulse.
@TehBrawlGuy Not saying it doesn't have that special atmosphere to it. Just saying everytime I see a video someone's saying how they cried over it =_=
actually i think its the epilogue track that does it (listening to that one now and im crying like a baby), but this one doesnt help me gain my composure to say the least
and i was playing on my ds btw if u were wondering
anyone else cry every single time this song plays during the credits? Ive beaten this game all the way through at the very LEAST 10 times, and I have yet to make it through this song without shedding a tear or ten
was playing this in class one day and beat the game and this started playing and im like "shit shit dont cry". needless to say i cried :/ but i was in back so no one saw
@Gilmoreboy2007 heh im almost 19 (only got to play this game around 6 or 7 years ago thanks to my cousin grabbing the ps1 version for me) but its easily my favorite game of all time
this (actually the epilogue track starts it but this one keeps it going) is just about the only thing that can bring me to tears anymore, aside from a loved one dying or something
When I was younger, and relatively unskilled at games, I'd managed to get most of the endings in a year. Since I was playing a new-game+ on my older brother's cartridge, I'd been able to get all the alternate endings. When I finally got the 'normal' ending after playing through to the end, and heard this song, it felt like saying goodbye to the people I'd come to know so well for a year of my life.
finishing this game and getting the OST i looked back and played it once more, but upon beating the game, i felt happy that the game ended well but seeing that everyone left...i cried due to how sad it was....thank you chrono trigger :)
When you hear this song in the end, it makes you feel like you've accomplished something, it just hits you that "I really did it", and that there is a sense of finality to the game. It makes you feel sad that the adventure is over and that the crew will go on their own separate ways. It's really powerful. Emotion-provoking. I just love this song.
Chrono's music proves that music isn't about the tone color or the quality of the sound - no, it's all about the pitches and their arrangement, both vertically (harmonically) and horizontally (melodically)
On another note, this song alone gives me great tears of joy because it reminds me of the satisfaction i had when I completed this game, I miss this game it was such great memories and I only wish to play this again to bring back the old memories. This is a wonderful thing to be reminded of such great times.
Man thank you for posting it!! this is an aweosme song by three great composers, let's all thank Yasunori Mitsuda, Noriko Matsueda, and Nobuo Uematsu for such an good compilation for an ending theme.
@BushidoMH I love singing, but I don't think my voice is well suited for this awesome task. I do know of a really awesome youtuber you could ask: katethegreat19 I don't know if she would, but it's worth a shot. She's really REALLY good.
This game had the best ending of all. Unlike most games, it actually gave you a story that shows how the characters have resolved everything which was a reward for all the hard work you had to do to get through the entire game. I love the ending where you see the Epoch go through all the different time periods showing each character living a normal life. It is really good when Frog changes back into his human form. It seems like the three main characters forget they are looking for Crono's mom.
Anyone here played Chrono Trigger - Flames of Eternity? Downloaded the game, and started playing it on my SNES EMULATOR yesterday. Man, it's not perfect like the original, but I think the game is awesome! I guess you should at least try playing it. @BushidoMH I love singing, but I don't think my voice is well suited for this awesome task. I do know of a really awesome youtuber you could ask: katethegreat19 I don't know if she would, but it's worth a shot. She's really REALLY good.

The beginning reminds me of the ending themes to the Donkey Kong Country games.

I want and don't want a sequel to chrono trigger.
I want it because with the current technology nowadays, they could make it look really beautiful.
I don't want it because knowing squareenix nowadays they'll probably concetrate more on graphics and not on story or gameplay.

It seems like the three main characters forget they are looking for Crono's mom.

when Squaresoft and Enix merged it kinda screwed a lot of great games
Super Mario rpg (for the people who wanted Geno in brawl)
Chrono Trigger (probobly won't be a sequal)
Dragon warrior, Monsters(now called monster quest I think) that series is nowhere near as good as it used to be but thats just my opinion
There's probobly more
