Not sure if this was how it originally aired on Saturday mornings in the 80' or was just for syndication, but have you noticed how the opening credits refer to the show as "Smurf's Adcentures"?
@seanmc31076 - this is how the U.S. syndicated reruns of The Smurfs is presented. This is done that way for all seasons from 1-7on Cartoon Network and Boomerang reruns as well as old USA Cartoon Block reruns. Most of the opening scenes seen here is an abbreviated short version of the original 4th season (1984-85) opening credits.
Man, is it me or that's one of the few times a major network-affiliated station carry cartoons as if it was a general-entertainment station, let alone a charter Fox affiliate.

Nope. This isn't how it regularly aired. Not that I was a fan of the series. I kind of hated it.
