Genesis is fiction, allegory. From the 106 schools that make up the " Christian College Coalition" only 5 teach that Genesis has to be taken litterally and that the "global flood" really happened.
THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF THE 21TH CENTURY IS, that in spite of all the education some adults still believe this nonsense of Noah`s Ark really happened.
Where are the two rivers? Where are the Monutains of Ararat. Where are the great civcviolizations that bear the names we find in the Bible. This man theory is nosense.
What are the chances that a baby boy and a baby girl will meet in their 20's or 30's and will marry each other ? Very slim, I'd say. And yet, so many families are formed that way. So the statistical argument seems empty.
Besides, what is it with Americans trying to physicaly "belong" to the biblical story ?
The flood occurred world wide and covered even the highest mountain. It is evident that there are other groups of people who share a flood story, thus we can assume other people were protected by the warning of Yah himself. Noah wasn't mentioned as being the only man saved. The scripture is a base while other stories also help support the reality of the flood. With Yah, all things are possible.
It's not that those who believe in the accuracy of the bible are irrational, but those who do not believe are spiritually blind. Evidence can be found. However, the spiritually blind see but don't understand because their minds are dim.
i think it is at least conceivable that Noah wasn't the only one building an ark. Cultures throughout the world - none of whom have ever been linked - tell of the same flood story. What are the chances? There must have been several arks with each ark carrying two or seven of every kind from THAT region. This would not only answer any species questions but ethnical concerns as well. The Flood is true. To me, this seem most probable.
The areas of the "flood" were prone to seasonal massive floods, some worse than others. People would put their livestock onto their boats to keep them alive, because without their livestock, they die. There is no evidence of the global flood referred to in the bible, but in that time period, when your world few was your farm, a flood that drowns it would seem global. It's beyond me how people can believe in the Noah fairy tale, and still consider themselves rational people.
BTW, the Garden of Eden is stated to have been between KNOWN rivers, none of which are located in the U.S. Did someone pay you to discredit Christians, or what?
In 1869 Rev. D.O. Van Slyke, a Methodist preacher and Civil War veteran, believed that the Galesville area to be the biblical Garden of Eden. Van Slyke wrote a persuasive story placing Galesville at the absolute center of the biblical Garden of Eden. He attempted to prove his theory with evidence of the region's configuration of river's and lush agricultural production. You can still visit the statue south of the town square.
I must have missed something?... I don't get it, what does the arc's that you show are man-made have to do with Noah's ark? I am very interested in this subject...
Sorry for taking so long to respond... life gets busy. They only allow 500 characters here and that's not enough for a real response, so I added a posting to the blog they gave me at Amazon. To get to the blog, got to Amazon and search "Alan Moen"... then click on my book and my blog is part of the description. The "What does this mean" posting should answer your question.

Yah must be really busy then, 'cause there are Children with Cancer, dying from starvation and Aids.
Should they pray more or what is your secret?
